Poyang Lake National Wetland Park is located in Poyang County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. It is located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, the west of Shangrao City and the east bank of Poyang Lake. Lushan Mountain in the west, Huangshan Mountain in the north, Sanqing Mountain in the east and Longhu Mountain in the south.

Poyang Lake spans Nanchang, Poyang, Jiujiang and other cities and counties, and collects the water from Ganjiang and Fuhe rivers, and flows into the Yangtze River through the mouth of the lake. Usually divided into north and south (or east and west) lakes, with Songmen Mountain between Duchang and Wucheng as the boundary. Northwest of Songmen Mountain is Beihu Lake, or Xipo Lake. The lake is very narrow, in fact, it is a long and narrow channel leading to the river. South of Songmen Mountain is Nanhu Lake, or Dongpo Lake, which is the main body of the lake area. The scenery of Poyang Lake is very beautiful, with the densest lake in the south of the Yangtze River, the noblest birds, the most colorful water and the most poetic grass.
