1883, official of Tianjin. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, there was a photographer who was famous for taking pictures of princes such as Li Hongzhang, governor of Zhili, and Yi Xuan, prince of alcohol. His name is Liang Shitai, from Guangdong. Liang Shitai 1870 opened a photo studio in Hong Kong, and moved to Tianjin in the early years of Guangxu.

Liang Shitai took a single portrait of Li Hongzhang at the Governor's Office. 1In May, 879, the outgoing US President Grant visited China, and Li Hongzhang, Governor of Zhili and Minister of Beiyang, received him in Tianjin. What really pushed Liang Shitai to the top of his career was his contact with Yi Xuan, the "wine prince". 1886, Empress Dowager Cixi ordered Yi Xuan to inspect the northern coastal defense, and ordered her to "inspect the land and water defense of Lushun, Yantai and Tianjin, as well as the topography, batteries and ship types of the three places, all of which were presented by foreign methods according to the drawings". At this time, Li Hongzhang recommended Liang Shitai to Yi Xuan.
