What have I learned from the five-day photography course?
Although I signed up as soon as my brain was hot, I really don't know what I can learn, because I am a super white who is not even familiar with the camera. A little white like me, with a master, will definitely be easier to get started.
On the 22nd, I dragged a small suitcase, a little excited and a little suspicious, and came to my studio in rural Beijing: Lao Shi. Although the location of the studio is a little different, the environment is very good. It is a small square yard in Beijing, full of green plants and all kinds of old things.
There are 7 students and 3 teachers in this issue, and they all live and eat here. So these five days are actually closed devil training. Except for two people who have 2 years of photography experience, all my friends are white like me.
These five days, every day is from 9 am to 9 pm, learning photography during the day and making props at night, which is very fulfilling every day.
The content of the first morning is the most basic camera-related knowledge, such as the three elements of exposure, the focal length and aperture of the lens, and the selection of the lens and the setting of the three elements in food photography. After listening to it, I have a basic concept of camera, and I am not afraid of those technical terms at all.
In the afternoon, first of all, the teacher decrypted some special techniques of food photography, such as splashing water, food suspended in the air, dark style and so on. After listening to it, I suddenly realized. It turns out that these are not difficult to achieve, and even we little whites can complete them.
After that, the teacher analyzed how to take good-looking natural light food photos with his own films. From the way of composition to the analysis of light position, and then to the choice of props. I listened carefully all afternoon.
Through the teacher's decryption and analysis, we no longer feel that food photography is difficult and mysterious, and we are no longer afraid.
The important thing is that the angle we appreciate photos has changed. Now we see a good photo, not admiring it, but immediately analyzing its style, where its light comes from, what its composition is like, how to choose props and how to learn from it.
In the evening, the director took us to do carpentry, and for the first time in his life, he chiseled the board himself, which was full of sense of accomplishment! In this way, I fell asleep with undigested knowledge.
Starting today, I started practicing and shooting. I'm a little excited to think about it.
Just one morning, I tried to photograph various dynamic effects such as water dripping into the bowl, Zen smoke column, splashing water, dough hanging and so on. In the small courtyard, there is always a "wow" exclamation. Everyone didn't expect to get started and shoot these effects.
I shot 7 or 8 scenes in the morning and took a rest at noon. I feel that people are still in shock and have not recovered. I started a quiz this afternoon.
The teacher made a set of scenes of milk tea in Inner Mongolia. Without saying anything, catch it yourself.
The next day ended in a close-up shoot.
Today I taught one of my favorite styles: dark/dark tones.
The following two are my dark tone evaluation works:
Today is a day of burning brain.
I mainly study shooting food under indoor lighting. For lighting equipment, I am a little scared when I see it. They are all big guys. I don't feel as good as I did two days ago.
Plus fighting PS at night, the whole person is not good. In four days, I will be tired ... Think about tomorrow's exam, and I will sleep in fear.
The last day will come soon.
Today is the graduation exam. Everyone will choose their own topic, and then want to shoot the style according to the topic, match the scene, and choose the light level and angle. In other words, we have to connect what we have learned in the past few days through this group of shooting.
The title I drew is: Xiaomi.
This group of graduation works, on the one hand, I am very dissatisfied, because the focus is wrong, there is no fill light, and the angle is a bit wrong. On the other hand, I am very satisfied, because I can take such photos in just five days, and I am very satisfied with such growth.
I learned a lot in just five days. Now I have a basic concept of food photography, and I know how those cool scenes are shot.
But photography is far from stealing a teacher for three to five days. This is just the beginning, and continuous shooting practice in the future is the cornerstone of improvement.
