Soft light is what is called diffuse light. To give you an example, if you use a light bulb as the light source of the subject, it will be more blunt. On the contrary, if a lamp is shined on a wall or cloth, through their reflection or refraction, the light reaching the subject will be relatively soft. To put it bluntly, in a soft lighting environment, the light and shadow of objects are not obvious, the three-dimensional effect is not strong, and the film is relatively flat, which is suitable for hazy artistic photos.
