Show how space is organized and used in design.
Space is the basic element of exhibition design. This paper probes into the space problems involved in exhibition design from three aspects: the concept of space in exhibition design, the treatment of functional space in exhibition environment and some basic principles of exhibition space design. How to deal with the relationship between space and space in the exhibition environment, how to create a comfortable space atmosphere, how to deal with auxiliary space and so on have been studied in detail. Keywords: space; Display design; Humanized exhibition design is an independent design specialty that emphasizes the space environment and the form of props, and it is a form of space. The exhibition environment is divided into indoor space and outdoor space. Indoor space is a spatial form based on exhibits and under the action of display props. This paper discusses some problems involved in indoor space design in exhibition environment. 1. Show the concept of space in design. Exhibition art is inseparable from space. It can even be said that exhibition art is the art of organizing and utilizing space. No matter from the concept, essence and characteristics, category and procedure of exhibition design, we can find that the concept of "space" runs through. Exhibition design is the creation of an artificial environment, and space planning has become the core element of exhibition art. Therefore, it is very necessary to define the concept of space before discussing space design, and every designer needs to keep this in mind as the "cornerstone of thought". The dual space concept of 1. 1 space has relative and absolute duality. The size and shape of this space are determined by its enclosure and its own functional form, and space also determines the form of enclosure. The "tangible" enclosure makes the "intangible" space tangible. Without enclosure, space becomes the "space" in the concept and cannot be perceived. The "invisible" space endows the "tangible" enclosure with practical significance. Without the existence of space, enclosure will lose its value. Lao Zi, two thousand years ago in China, made an incisive exposition on this dialectical relationship between space and enclosure: "Take it as a utensil, take it as a utensil. Carve the family into a room, and when it has nothing, it has a room. Therefore, it is beneficial and useless. " 1.2 Timeliness of space In the exhibition design, the space we are talking about is four-dimensional, so the concept of "time" is added to the three-dimensional space in the usual sense. Time means exercise. Without time to study space, it will be boring and meaningless. Since Einstein's "theory of relativity" was put forward, people's understanding of space has been deepened, and they know that space and time are different expressions of a thing. Space is a visual "field" between the invisible virtual body formed under the restriction of tangible entity elements and the people who feel it, and it is a subjective feeling derived from life. This feeling is closely related to time. People's appreciation of exhibits in the exhibition environment is bound to be dynamic, and time is dynamic interpretation. In the exhibition space, people will inevitably experience the passage of time and the change of space, thus forming a complete sensory experience. Timeliness of space is an objective factor in exhibition design. Making full use of the "fourth dimension" of time is the basis of creating dynamic space forms and the only way to create "flowing beauty". 1.3 the fluidity of space is inevitable in the exhibition environment, which is determined by the functional characteristics of the exhibition space. Exhibition space is the art of space and site planning. It conveys information to the audience in a certain way within a specific space. Let the audience feel as if they are in a huge artistic sculpture. Through the dynamic expression of display techniques and conscious guidance in planning, the audience can experience the fourth-dimensional effect of time and space in a three-dimensional space. The planning of exhibition plane can produce various spatial effects. For example, the plane streamline formed by geometric straight lines makes people produce rational and orderly spatial effects; If organic or cambered streamline is adopted, the space can be more lively and free. The different distribution of exhibition area and route makes the audience feel a kind of psychological rhythm in the process of browsing. The difference of space layout can cause the audience to stay in front of the exhibits and booths during the visit, making the whole environment relaxed and orderly and full of changes. With the development of modern science and technology, various forms of dynamic display have appeared in the exhibition halls of many developed countries. This form of dynamic display is not only the combination of point, line, surface, color and light, but also the use of modern technology, modern audio-visual technology, photography technology, computer simulation technology and other methods to create a more real scene at the exhibition site, so that the audience is completely immersed in a more real virtual space, as if to form a "just visit" across time and space. In this way, the distance between time and space was changed. The audience can experience the objective world of eternal movement with their own psychological changes from this dynamic space and the time transferred by space-time changes. 2. Processing of functional space in exhibition environment Any spatial environment is composed of various functional spaces. Because of its particularity, the exhibition environment conveys information to the audience by means of spatial expression, so as to achieve the purpose of enhancing and deepening the image of enterprises and products, so it has higher requirements for the organization and planning of the functional space involved. Only by properly handling the relationship between various functional spaces, such as public space, information space, auxiliary functional space, storage space, staff space, reception space, etc. And make them exist in a public space harmoniously, so as to achieve a really good display design. Exhibition art is a very practical art, and any exhibition design is to organize elements for a certain purpose and make it a whole. When carrying out exhibition design, partitioning the space is the primary task and the basic guarantee for successfully completing the whole exhibition process. Functional partition is a spatial analysis of various functions of exhibition activities and their relationships, so that spatial partition can meet the needs of functions. For example, the design of an independent booth in an exhibition requires functional analysis of the space, rational allocation of functional areas such as negotiation area, exhibition area, commodity or corporate image display area, and consideration of coordination and unity with the whole exhibition style. Another example is the public space in the exhibition environment, which is an area for public use and activities. When planning, we should pay attention to four aspects: it must be easy to get in and out, there must be enough space for people to talk without affecting other visitors, and there must be room for rest and drinking. Contemporary exhibition art has developed into a comprehensive embodiment of modern scientific and technological achievements, involving more and more complex components. Digital means, sound, light and electricity are integrated, and the corresponding functional space is also updated and increased. This puts forward higher requirements for designers to analyze and plan space. As far as the exhibition environment itself is concerned, adopting reasonable space design is the key to form artistic effects such as jumping rhythm and smooth rhythm in the exhibition design; Correctly handling and grasping the complementary relationship between functional spaces is the essence of creating an ideal exhibition environment. 3. Show some basic principles of space design. 3. 1 Use dynamic, serialized and rhythmic display forms. As mentioned above, the biggest feature of exhibition space is its strong mobility, so it is the first basic principle to adopt dynamic, serialized and rhythmic exhibition forms in space design, which is determined by the nature of exhibition space and human factors. People are in the state of visiting and exercising in the exhibition space, and experience and get the final space feeling in the exercise. This requires that the exhibition space must be based on this, and the audience's visit streamline should be arranged in the most reasonable way, so that the audience can participate in the exhibition activities completely and economically in the flow, and try not to follow the repeated route, especially in the key areas of the exhibition, so that the space can be handled as smoothly as the music melody, and the cadence is clear and distinct, making the whole design logical. While satisfying the function, people feel the charm of space change and the endless interest of design. For example, the German Pavilion of the World Expo in Barcelona, Spain, divides the space by enclosing, enclosing and enclosing, so that people can continue to advance along the tour route formed by zoning after entering the exhibition space, and can see several levels of space from different angles during the journey. In the space processing of the museum, the designer used ingenious ways to divide the space, which made the limited space infinite, and the infinite space included the limited. With the ever-changing orientation of space, the display form of the whole space is smooth and full of rhythm, which makes people enjoy all-round space in the ever-changing visual composition. China's garden art is similar to exhibition art in this respect, from which we can get some inspiration. For example, gardens pay attention to the opening and closing of spatial sequence and the opening and closing of light and shade; Pay attention to changing scenery and melting scenery on the tour route. These are all worth learning when considering the form of space display. 3.2 Consider human factors in space design to make space serve people better. The basic structure of exhibition space consists of place structure, path structure and domain structure, in which the attribute of place structure is the basic attribute of exhibition space. Because places reflect the most basic relationship between people and space. It embodies human subjectivity. Through the synergy of center (i.e. place), direction (i.e. path) and region (i.e. field), the relationship "force" means "highlighting people's position in social psychological state". It is man who endows the exhibition space with the fourth dimension, so that it can show the reality from the illusory state through man's actions in the exhibition environment, and at the same time, man obtains all psychological feelings in the process of experiencing this space. "Man" is the ultimate service object of exhibition space, so the spiritual needs of man as an advanced animal are an aspect that exhibition design must meet. Exhibition design needs to meet people's dual needs in material and spirit, which is the basic basis for analyzing exhibition space. Human beings need comfortable and harmonious exhibition environment, fully functional exhibition effect, informative exhibition content, safe and convenient space planning, thoughtful service facilities and so on, which are the spiritual requirements of human beings for exhibition design. This requires designers to carefully analyze visitors' activities with a scientific attitude when designing fruit juice, pay full attention to ergonomics, and make the shape and size of the exhibition space match the human body scale, and the scale of each part in the space coordinate with people's behavior and perception in the space. This is the most basic space requirement. Meanwhile, people should carry out activities in a comfortable environment. If we can't create a space that gives people a sense of psychological intimacy and warmth, even the environment using the most advanced display means is just a lifeless body composed of cold machinery. A humanized exhibition space is a "reasonable" and "sensible" design. 3.3 Displaying the exhibits in the most effective space position is the protagonist of the exhibition space, and presenting the exhibits to the audience in the most effective place position is the primary purpose of dividing the space. Reasonable design of exhibition sequence, arrangement of exhibition scheme and reasonable distribution of exhibition area are the prerequisites for using space to achieve the best exhibition effect. Therefore, designers must consider the space problem in combination with the display content, and different display contents have corresponding display forms and space division. For example, commercial exhibition activities require that the venue is relatively open, space and space penetrate each other for interactive communication, and the location of exhibits should be conspicuous. For those sound, light, electricity, animation, simulation and other display forms, we should give sufficient and prominent display space to enhance the visual impact on people and leave a deep impression on the audience. In a word, a reasonable orientation of exhibits is the primary consideration of exhibition space planning and the key to a successful exhibition design. 3.4 Ensure the safety of the auxiliary space and the overall space of the exhibition environment. In some large-scale exhibition activities, it may include all kinds of instruments, machinery, equipment and models that need energy. Most of these equipments need some power support, such as electricity, compressed air, steam and so on. These auxiliary facilities also need to occupy a certain space, and the space of these equipment must be isolated from the exhibition environment to prevent noise and harmful gas pollution and take safety precautions. Considering the treatment of these auxiliary spaces is the guarantee for the smooth completion of the whole exhibition. In the process of space design, the needs of the audience are the first. Therefore, we must pay attention to the safety of exhibition space. For example, the arrangement of visiting streamline must consider all possible unexpected factors, such as power failure, fire alarm, unexpected disasters, etc. , must consider the corresponding emergency measures. In large-scale exhibition activities, there must be sufficient evacuation routes, emergency signs and emergency lighting systems. In order to provide convenience for the audience, the space design of the exhibition should consider the convenience of the audience's passage and rest, consider the special needs of the disabled as much as possible, and seek "barrier-free" design, which is also a trend of the development of modern exhibition design. 4. Conclusion Display design is a rich subject, involving a wide range of fields, and its connotation is constantly enriched with the development of the times. Above, we discussed the space involved in the display design. We can know that space is in the soul position in exhibition design, and the information that needs to be conveyed in exhibition activities must be presented to the public through space. Space provides a place for our perceptual activities. Without space, we will not be able to get information and communicate with people. In short, correctly handling the problem of space is the essence of display design; Correctly understanding the relationship between space and display design is the premise and foundation of design; Better use of "space" language can give design rich meaning and vitality.
