Test drive my car Cadillac CT4 and talk about its body configuration and appearance!

Currently, CT4 has not been tested in major 4S stores. This time, thanks to a friend, I experienced the media test drive of CT4 for half a day in advance and took some photos. I would like to express my appreciation. My friend’s heartfelt thanks ~ Now that the experience is over, I will share with you my purely subjective feelings about CT4 from the perspective of an ordinary consumer and car enthusiast.

The "FR" front-engine and rear-wheel drive has always been popular among many car fans who love driving. Now Cadillac CT4 regards "FR" as one of its biggest selling points and comes to us.

Personally, I still think the appearance of CT4 is quite good. It can be regarded as the unified design of this generation of Cadillac models, which is very consistent with the aesthetics of a straight man like me.

The side profile of CT4 is almost exactly the same as that of ATS. They are really from the same origin.

Because I just went to a 4S store to test drive a CT5 the day before I test drove the CT4. The similarities and differences between the two are very obvious to me personally. Although this CT4 is also a top-end model, compared to the CT5 The top version of the model lacks MRC, MLSD, and Brembo calipers. What impact these will have on the actual driving experience will be discussed here first and will be mentioned later.

It is this "old face" again. The 2.0T engine codenamed LSY has a mere 4 horsepower lower than the one on the CT5. It is now used in almost all GM models. This National VI really allows OEMs to save money if they can.

The 8AT’s gearbox does not use an electronic gear lever like the CT5. I personally prefer this mechanical gear lever.

There is no doubt about the power of CT4, but it is indeed not as violent as the ATS in the previous LTG era. I wonder if there will be an official special adjustment in the future~? As for the gearbox, I feel that this 8AT is the one on the previous ATSL. The platform is more than smooth, but the shifting speed is not as fast as the new 10AT and ZF's 8AT. When accelerating from the start, I can clearly feel the power interruption during shifting. Although it is really short, it stands out with the comparison. Yes, I personally speculate that this is one of the reasons why CT4 is more than 100 kilograms lighter than CT5 and accelerates only a little faster. ?Although the brakes are not supported by Brembo brake calipers like the CT5 top model, the braking force is still good. In theory, it is no problem to change it. The caliper bridge position is exactly the same as the previous ATS and can be used directly.

The 235?40?r18 obsidian black wheels are the same as those on the CT5, but the CT4 tires use Continental all-season tires, and the grip is definitely not as good as the PS4S, which is the top configuration of the CT5.

The CT4 feels similar to the CT5 when you first get started, but the front suspension stroke will be softer, giving people a more comfortable feeling. This is somewhat similar to my 325i, but the overall middle and rear sections The rebound and support are still in place, which can give people relatively strong confidence. ?The steering feel is close to that of CT5, which is relatively heavy. ?As a "small car" with an FR layout, you must turn off the stability program to experience the fun of drifting. CT4 does a very good job in this regard. As long as the traction control is turned off, the rear of the car will become flexible. Get up, turn off the stabilization program, and then you can directly drift in place and make a U-turn. And the well-supported suspension will also give you a sense of security. ?However, the problem of not having LSD is reflected at this time. When the CT5 skids at the rear of the car, as long as you correct the steering wheel slightly, you can safely step on the accelerator boldly. The rear of the car is very obedient, but the CT4 will obviously be more difficult to control, and Perhaps thanks to the work of MRC, the CT5's chassis will always give you a very neat feeling whether it is passing a speed bump or driving intensely, while the CT4's front section is soft and will be slightly loose when passing some uneven roads, but This is only for the CT5 with MRC electromagnetic suspension. I have to praise Cadillac's domestic configuration. It has a rich set of hardware configurations at the same level and price.

The instrument panel is exactly the same as the CT5. Many people complain about the need for a full LCD instrument. In fact, I personally think that this semi-LCD instrument is more quality for drivers like us.

The vehicle electronic program control panel is similar to the CT5, except that the location has been moved to the end near the armrest box.

BOSE speakers are very good, with outstanding mid-low frequencies, and are very suitable for listening to American music such as hip-pop.

This rear seat feels almost at the same level as an A-class car a few years ago, and it seems very cramped.

The interior space of the CT4 does seem cramped, similar to that of some A-class cars. The overall interior atmosphere is almost the same as that of the CT5. It is very Cadillac. I personally feel that it not only reflects the sporty feel, but also creates a luxury brand. The texture that a car should have.

CT4 is really a very interesting "small car", but its small size is both its selling point and its shortcoming.

Among all the entry-level cars of luxury brands currently on the market, CT4 is definitely the most fun and the one with the most personality. Such a positioning is destined to be impossible to sell well in China. It will only be for those who love driving and personality. It is a "big toy" for young people, but insisting on individuality and achieving one's own "small but beautiful" is not another way of survival? Personally, I still hope that the domestic car market can have more personalized cars like CT4. After all, There are already too many choices for comfortable home use. In the current era of increasingly stringent emission regulations and the "major trend" of electric vehicles, it is really commendable that such a car can be launched.
