Tiananmen Square starts from Tiananmen Square in the north, Zhengyangmen in the south, History Museum in the east and Great Hall of the People in the west. It is 880 meters long from north to south and 500 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of 440,000 square meters. In the center of the square stands the Monument to the People's Heroes and the solemn Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. On the west side of the square is the Great Hall of the People, on the east side is the China National Museum, and on the south side are two ancient pagodas built in the14th century-Zhengyangmen and Qianmen Arrow Tower.

Tiananmen Gate is located at the northern end of the square. Tiananmen Square has five gates and nine towers, with a height of 33.7 meters. On both sides of Tiananmen Square are the Working People's Cultural Palace and Zhongshan Park. These magnificent buildings are integrated with Tiananmen Square and become a major landscape in Beijing.
