In the preliminary stage of this site selection work, four sites were proposed in Liugu, Gaocun, Wuting and Liwang. After research and discussion, it was agreed in principle that the Liuwu site should be used as the construction site of Vang Vieng General Airport.

The nature of Wanrong General Airport is A1, the flight area grade index is 2B, and the runway is 1200 meters to 30 meters. It will be of great significance to promote the overall development of local tourism resources, stimulate local economic development, improve the transportation structure, and achieve regional transportation integration.
