Huangshan Painting School refers to a group of landscape painters from different backgrounds who took root in Huangshan Mountain in the early Qing Dynasty, devoted themselves to enjoying the true scenery of Huangshan Mountain, depicting its wonders and creating a new situation in the history of landscape painting. Mei Qing, Shi Tao and Jian Jiang are the three pillars of Huangshan Painting School.

Modern painters include Huang, Wang Caibai, Liu Haisu, Zhang Daqian, Li Keran, etc. They also left their works with the theme of Huangshan Mountain. In particular, master artist Huang began to copy the works of Dong Qichang, Shi Tao, Jian Jiang and Cha Shibiao in his teens. When he 19 visited Huangshan for the first time, he was deeply attracted by the beautiful scenery in the mountains. He visited Huangshan for nine years and called himself "Huangshan middleman". He inherited the tradition of Huangshan Painting School to learn from nature, and at the same time, he learned from others and integrated Chinese and Western ideas. In his later years, his style changed from simple and elegant to vigorous and dignified, reaching the realm of selfless and free and easy. He attached great importance to the study of Huangshan School of Painting, and personally compiled the book The Origin of Huangshan Painters. No matter in painting art or academic research, Huang Dou further enriched and developed the "Huangshan Painting School" and was a famous figure of Huangshan Painting School in modern times.

Wang Caibai, a landscape painter in the Republic of China, was a fellow villager of Huang. There is also a deep study of Huangshan painting school. He is good at painting the green mountains and green waters of Huangshan Mountain. His painting style is fresh and lively, and there is an album "Sleeping in the Yellow Sea", which has the characteristics of modern landscape painting. His work won the first prize at the Paris International Art Exhibition.

Zhang Daqian, a world-famous master of Chinese painting, once counted Huangshan Mountain, wrote down many landscapes of Huangshan Mountain and published Zhang Daqian's Huangshan Atlas. He was deeply impressed by Huangshan Mountain, and was engraved with seals such as "Return of the Yellow Sea" and "Being the Outstanding Man of Huangshan Mountain".
