Does learning photography start with imitation?

Teacher Yin of Fashion Xinfeng Photography School answered.

The reason why I chose to imitate is because the predecessors of photography embarked on a correct path. Imitation is not plagiarism. Through imitation, we can quickly catch up with industry leaders, wait and look for opportunities to break through and surpass.

The creation of photography always gives my students a headache, and some of them are just habits.

Rigid shooting, some pursue artistic shooting effects, and follow their so-called feelings, and the films they shoot feel very strange. The reason I summed up is the lack of photographic language.

In fact, imitation is not plagiarism, nor can it be equated with plagiarism, because plagiarism is the follow-up of Handan's toddler and passive learning, and what we want is imitation, a deep exploration and learning, which is the stage that innovation must go through. Many blockbusters we know are also the products of the so-called "second revolution" on the basis of imitation. Without imitation, there will be no innovation.

There are many imitators, but few successful imitators, that is, most imitators actually don't distinguish between imitation and plagiarism. Plagiarists only achieve the same effect through plagiarism, but fail to grasp the essence and focus of imitation. The real imitation, in fact, needs careful consideration before, and the purpose of imitation is to catch up with or even surpass the photographic predecessors!
