Quanzhou Huaguang Photography Art Vocational College is a higher education institution officially approved by the Fujian Provincial People's Government and reported to the Ministry of Education for the record. It is the first institution of higher learning in China focusing on photography. Mr. Lang Jingshan, a famous photographer, personally wrote the name of the school and will always serve as honorary president. CCTV has followed up the development of the Institute for six years in the columns of Chinese Style, Son of the East and Life. Professor Yang Enpu, the current president, is an authoritative photography theorist and aesthetician in China.

The college pays attention to the construction of teaching staff, with more than 60 professional teachers and 44 people with sub-high titles or above. Tsinghua University, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing Film Academy, National Huaqiao University and many other famous professors and experts at home and abroad, including photographers and artists from Southeast Asian countries, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, were hired to teach. The college is located in Quanzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in China, covering an area of more than 230 mu, with developed transportation and communication. Now it has an office building, a teaching center, an internship factory, apartment buildings, restaurants, sports venues, swimming pools and other construction areas of about 30,000 square meters. The large-scale exhibition hall of photography, calligraphy and painting is more than 4,000 square meters, with beautiful teaching environment and complete hardware facilities. It is a modern garden-style institution full of artistic flavor.

After ten years of running a school, Huaguang has trained thousands of professional and technical talents such as photography and video recording for the society. It has been widely praised by TV stations, newspapers and magazines, wedding photo studios, enterprises and institutions all over the country. College is a professional skill appraisal unit directly authorized by the national labor and social security department, which can carry out training, assessment and certification of various vocational and technical levels for the society. It is also a social practice and artistic quality education base for primary and secondary school students in Quanzhou, and nearly 20,000 primary and secondary school students participate in the base training every year.

In order to meet the growing demand of social development for senior talents in photography and related majors, with the approval of Fujian Provincial Department of Education, the College enrolled students in seven provinces and cities (Hubei, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shanghai, Chongqing, Xinjiang and Ningxia) in 2002.

The college has specialties such as photography and video technology, advertising and decoration, environmental art and sculpture, computer application, footwear design and technology, and fashion design.

Photography and camera technology major: (Portrait photography, news photography, advertising photography, film and television photography) Cultivate advanced technology-applied talents with extensive theoretical knowledge of culture and art, film, television, advertising and photo photography capabilities, and be able to engage in photography art production and teaching in film factories, television production departments, advertising and publicity departments, commercial photography and other departments.

Advertising and Decoration Major: To cultivate advanced technical applied talents with extensive cultural and artistic knowledge, master the basic theories and skills of decorative arts and advertising design, and be able to engage in decoration, advertising planning, design and management in decoration companies, news media, advertising departments and enterprises and institutions.

Environmental Art and Sculpture Major: To cultivate advanced technical applied talents with basic knowledge and skills of garden plant cultivation and conservation management, garden planning and design, landscape planning and design, and landscape art design, with concrete and abstract modeling abilities such as clay sculpture, gypsum, wood and stone, capable of engaging in landscape design and management of urban construction and scenic tourist areas, and capable of engaging in professional creative design and teaching in outdoor urban environmental sculpture, indoor shelf sculpture and other professional fields.

Computer application major: cultivate good scientific literacy, master the basic principles of computers, the basic theories and skills of software and hardware applications, and have strong image design and processing capabilities. Senior technical application-oriented talents who can engage in corresponding technical and management work in the imaging industry, advertising companies, institutions, enterprises and institutions.

Footwear design major: To cultivate advanced technical applied talents with basic knowledge of footwear materials, basic theories and skills of footwear manufacturing technology and management, and engaged in footwear design, manufacturing and management in various footwear manufacturing and circulation departments.

Fashion design: to cultivate advanced applied talents who have the basic principles of fashion design and production, master the basic theories and skills of fashion production and management, and can engage in fashion design and management in the distribution departments of various clothing industries.
