How to enrich your college life?
1. Socialize moderately and learn to be alone.
When I first entered the university, WeChat and Weibo were not popular, and QQ was the main battlefield for social interaction. At that time, the pressure of the college entrance examination was like passing clouds, which was suppressed for three years and I couldn't wait to talk to my new classmates every day. At that time, I felt that students who want to communicate for four years in the future must get along well and take the initiative, so that future communication will be easier.
Now four years have passed, only to find that only two or three children can keep in touch. And people who had a hot chat on the internet before, after all, gradually exposed their personality disagreement and became strangers. Shortly after entering the university, WeChat suddenly became popular, but many friends on QQ were always silent in that outdated place.
Now that I think about it, although I made many so-called friends at that time and got along well when I first met them, universities are a hodgepodge of all corners of the country. Without a fixed classroom, there is no cohesive group and it is not easy to make intimate friends. We live different lives and have different purposes, so it is no longer our consistent goal for high school to get into college with one heart. Unity and cooperation are not so important, so loneliness will eventually become a normal state in universities.
It is human nature to be eager to socialize when you first enter the university campus. Even eat together every day and get drunk from time to time. However, this seemingly extensive practice of making friends at home and abroad is meaningless. This unsustainable passion will fade sooner or later. Your study, work and future will be surrounded by all kinds of things that belong to you. Slowly, fewer and fewer people walk with you. Finally, when you face the society, you will only be left to fight alone. Learning to be alone is just to adapt to the future life in advance.
There are many social means now. Think about it. How many zombie fans are there in your QQ, WeChat friends and Weibo? How many people haven't talked? These are useless social activities, just like "tasteless food, it's a pity to abandon it". With this time and energy, it is better to enrich yourself. However, everything should be treated dialectically. "Learning alone without friends" also needs to make like-minded and worthy friends, so as not to be "ignorant".
However, don't put all your energy into socializing, or you will find that many social activities become useless. One of my college roommates bragged about how many friends he had every day, and he was as close as brothers every day. As a result, he was ill and uncomfortable, and he had to run around to see a doctor alone. His supposed friend never showed up.
I give this example not to advise you not to socialize, but to tell you that socializing should be moderate, and universities should learn to enjoy a life of solitude as soon as possible: one takes classes alone, one carries a bag and goes to the library for self-study, one finds an internship, one faces various exams, and one goes out to society.
Although people are social animals, they also need to enjoy the time alone. University life is like this. They need to socialize and must learn to be alone.
2. Self-study and combine work and rest.
After going to college, many people suddenly seem to have changed their temperament, become lazy and indulgent, and no longer struggle as hard as they did in high school, so that graduation after four years is very difficult or even delayed. Many acquaintances will ask themselves: "How did he/she get into this university in the first place?"
There was a senior whose story was widely circulated in our school and became a legend. It is said that after he entered school, he lost his restraint, went on strike day and night, wandered around in the noise all the year round, and failed more than 20 courses in four years. Finally, I was ruthlessly expelled from school in my third year of high school. After studying for nearly four years, I didn't even get a degree certificate, so I had to go back to a university in my hometown to study as a freshman.
The degree of freedom of universities is incomparable to that of nine-year compulsory education and high schools: teachers will no longer mind their own business, they can go in and out at any time, even if they stay out for the night (except military schools and a few schools) or even attend classes, they can decide whether to attend according to their own mood.
At this time, learning depends entirely on autonomy. Don't think that you can indulge yourself after three years of hard work in high school. University is a new starting point of learning, not the end of learning.
You may ask, "How to learn independently?" It's simple. The teacher will recommend some books in class. Even just reading those books can free you from loneliness. Besides, many courses in the university are very meaningful and interesting. You should attend more lectures, enrich your knowledge, and even sign up for some exams to supervise yourself and cultivate your autonomous learning ability. Otherwise, no one will help you write your graduation thesis.
"Only those who can rest can work", Lenin's sentence is also applicable in study. If you don't have a rest, I'm afraid you can't study for a long time. Many students have dropped out of school because of illness, and I have to ask for leave many times because of illness myself.
Learning to combine work and rest is as important as learning to study independently. Tired of studying, watching several episodes of American TV series, playing ball for a while, running or visiting the city where the university is located are all good ways to relax. In this way, I relaxed my body and mind, which helped me to devote myself wholeheartedly to the next study and life.
Combine work and rest, but also ensure sleep. Staying up late is very popular in universities, but I advise you not to catch up with this fashion. Go to bed at two or three o'clock every night and get up at ninety in the morning. It's best to get into the habit of going to bed early and getting up early. Staying up late does harm to your health over time. Don't wait until one day your body collapses to regret it.
In college, learning is still the first priority, but health can not be ignored. Good physical condition is the premise of persistent study.
Open your mind and have a long-term vision.
During my four years in college, I summed up a rule with my personal understanding: people who don't care much about their grades in college are often easy to get along with; And those who take their grades seriously are difficult to associate with.
W is my roommate, a character named "Xueba". His grades are really good, and he is very serious. Every time he does well in the exam, his score is higher than mine (because sometimes my score is similar to his). He is very happy and willing to talk to me in the dormitory. And when something goes wrong with him, or when my grades are higher than his, he will not talk to me for a long time, pull a long face, sigh and even be cynical in the dormitory. He always talks about scholarships. Even if he won the national prize, he still cried poor every day, hoping that we people would invite him to dinner. Naturally, we all hate him. Once, he was caught cheating in the exam, and since then, W's face has never seen him cocky.
This kind of person is a dime a dozen, that is, the garbage people lurking around you. For these people, if they have common sense, they will get angry and stink. The correct way is to tolerate him. As Hanshan asked for it:
Before, Hanshan asked Pickup, "What should I do if the world slanders me, deceives me, humiliates me, laughs at me, belittles me, despises me and deceives me?"
Jiyun: "Just put up with him, let him, let him, avoid him, put up with him, respect him, ignore him, stay for a few years and see him."
As a college student, we must get rid of the mentality that scores are just numbers, be broad-minded and have a long-term vision, and don't just stare at "vanity and petty profits". You didn't go to college for those scholarships. What is more important is to learn knowledge, broaden our horizons and lay the foundation for stepping into society. Those who regard scholarships as more important than anything else are just pursuing the end. They are intrigued and do everything they can. They may get temporary benefits, but they lose all the beauty outside their studies.
Remember: all kinds of unhappiness and depression in college will eventually become insignificant with the passage of time, and one day you will laugh and say your resentment at that time. So why not open your mind now?
4. Go out of the campus and get in touch with the society.
My university tutor once said to me, "As long as the family's economic conditions allow, don't take any part-time jobs, or take more time out to study and concentrate on reading."
That's true, but I think it's mainly aimed at those students who want to devote themselves to academics, or even those who have made up their minds to pursue doctoral studies and engage in professional research, especially our liberal arts majors, who need to spend a lot of time reading the original classics. For ordinary students, after all, they should go out of the campus and face the society.
Since the university, the gap between people is getting bigger and bigger. And this gap is hard to be reflected in books, but more in stepping into society. In addition to studying, you should also get in touch with the society and find some internships that are helpful to you, not only for the internship salary, but also for learning experience and feeling the society.
Take my own two internship experiences as an example. After four years in college, I didn't have much internship experience, but I practiced in carefully selected places and learned a lot of knowledge outside of books.
First, the internship experience in the subdistrict office, local taxation bureau and national taxation bureau has deeply felt the leisure and boredom of civil servants, and also realized the saying that "the official level is crushing people"-no matter how big the company is, no matter how powerful the boss is, you have to do whatever you want in front of civil servants, otherwise it will not be smooth to seal the office. Moreover, through this internship, I realized that I was not suitable for such a job as civil servants, so I had a little clarity about the future and ruled out the option of civil servants.
Secondly, I learned the complexity and arduousness of compiling history from my working experience in the Compilation Committee of Qing History of the Ministry of Culture, which also helped me learn the direction of history and how to get along with my predecessors and old professors in my work, which is definitely beneficial to my future work. I even had the opportunity to attend a national conference, and it was an eye-opener for me to meet Minister Luo of the Ministry of Culture.
Campus is the main activity place for college students, but you will eventually bid farewell to campus and embrace the society. The transition during this period is an internship opportunity.
