Public dietitian is one of the fourth batch of new occupations released by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in March, 2005. It is a professional and skilled talent that meets the needs of society and market. Refers to the professionals who have been trained in professional knowledge and skills, passed the national vocational qualification examination and obtained professional qualifications, engaged in nutrition guidance, nutrition and food safety knowledge dissemination, and promoted public health. The research contents of public nutritionists mainly include: nutrition foundation, modern medicine foundation, population nutrition foundation, food hygiene foundation, nutrition consultation and education, food nutrition evaluation, dietary nutrition guidance and disease prevention, measurement and evaluation of human nutrition status, community nutrition management and intervention, etc. Focus on learning and mastering the contents and skills of selecting dishes, preparing recipes, basic cooking, nutrition and so on.

Those who pass the examination will be awarded the national vocational qualification certificate of public dietitian.
