The most wonderful reading experience in my war
Director Peng Shun has long been well-known in the film industry for his works such as Hell, Bangkok, Cheng Wei (Thailand Edition), Detective C+, Fengyun No.2 and Delusion, and has won many awards and nominations at Toronto International Film Festival, Hong Kong Golden Award and Tokyo International Film Festival. For directing a war movie for the first time, Peng Shun expressed his great hope to make a war movie with his own style, and combine his own commercial perspective and unique shooting techniques with traditional war themes to complete a real commercial war blockbuster. It is understood that in order to respect history and film My War well, Peng Shun read a lot of relevant books and video materials before filming, and got a deep understanding of this history. During the filming process, Peng Shun took the time to communicate with the teachers of the firearms group, and was fully familiar with each weapon and equipment, so as to better complete the filming. Such enthusiastic and serious work attitude and extreme control over details make the creative staff deeply admire the director.
"The director wanted to show us different war movies, and he was under great pressure, but he didn't show it at all on the set, just to make us concentrate more on shooting," Wang said of the director. Yang Shining said: "The director will be very excited as soon as he sits in the director's chair on the set. What pictures are there and what pictures need to be made up are all in his mind. " Liu Ye's evaluation of the director is the most pertinent: "He is a very professional person. He has been focusing on the camera on the set and is a typical workaholic type. His work takes up all his time. He is very professional and dedicated. "
In order to restore the battle scenes to resist US aggression and aid Korea as truly as possible, and present the most authentic feelings to the audience, Peng Shun said: He insisted on shooting the battle scenes in real life, and when shooting the battle scenes, he would ask the photographer to finish shooting at the nearest location to the bombing point and pass by the bombing point with the actors. Only in this way can we reflect the authenticity of the battlefield. In the process of shooting, GoPro is widely used to shoot, presenting the picture from the first-person perspective, giving people a more real feeling. In the process of shooting with GoPro, not only actors and machines are required to perform together, but Peng Shun also personally enters the "battlefield" with the machines to truly feel the danger of the battlefield. Peng Shun asked for the use of real blasting in the blasting scene in the film, which brought great difficulties to the filming. Under the premise of ensuring the personal safety of the actors, most of the blasting scenes in the film are real blasting. In the process of shooting, the same picture will be shot many times because of blasting or the actor's departure. Peng Shun hopes that through this shooting technique and strict picture requirements, the audience can feel the real battlefield, sort out new modes of war movies with different shooting methods, and bring new feelings to the audience, hoping to create a commercial blockbuster with its own personal style.
Shooting in many places, the director and the staff share joys and sorrows.
My war was officially launched in Diaobingshan City, Liaoning Province on September 28th, 20 15. The whole film lasted 1 18 days, moved to more than ten shooting locations in three provinces and four counties, and was finished in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province on September 28th, 20 16+ 13. During the filming, the crew moved from Beijing, where the temperature was more than 20 degrees Celsius, to Hebei and Northeast China, where the temperature was nearly MINUS 20 degrees Celsius. All the staff have photographed the night scene for nearly half a month at the temperature of MINUS 10, and it is common for them to be stuffed with sand and smoked. Even though it was the first time to shoot in such a harsh environment, Peng Shun still worked hard and kept improving. He is always the first to check the venue and props on the set to ensure that the shooting progress will not be delayed. During the filming process, he personally demonstrated and guided many times, and his professionalism was recognized by the whole crew. When facing the camera, Peng Shun also said humorously: "I usually want to be with the staff and actors, so I feel the shooting scene with them outside, but it's so cold!"
It is worth mentioning that during the filming of My War, Peng Shunqing wished his 50th birthday, and the staff prepared a birthday cake for him to celebrate his birthday. Peng Shun thanked the crew for their concern, and said that despite the difficult shooting conditions, the crew still had to work hard to make a real commercial war blockbuster and present it to the audience.
