Photoshop tip: slicing time

There is a concept that time is called "the fourth dimension". Day after day, year after year, in this long river, we can only record short moments. As for the compatibility between time and photography, the most popular one recently is time-lapse photography. However, the delayed result is either a short film or a GIF picture. But these are not the focus of today. This time, I will introduce you to a relatively different approach: time slicing.

I once showed this photo to National Geographic photographer Michael Yamashita. He said that he had seen a similar photo in Manhattan, USA, but it was cut thinner, so it really looked like day to night from a distance. Actually, the principle is similar. If you have developed curiosity, keep reading!

There are 9 photos in this photo, and 9 photos are taken naturally (true _ wordy). As for the shooting time, different seasons are different, so this question can only be decided by the students according to the actual situation. As for this photo, I chose to take a photo from 5: 30 pm to 7: 30 pm, 15 minutes, which is quite time-consuming.

There are several points to pay attention to when shooting:

1. Use tripod, preferably cable release, anti-shake or anti-shake

2. The measurement method should be unchanged. I used the wide-area mode and went straight to the building.

3.a file is a good choice. Don't move after fixed exposure compensation, which will bring you a lot of convenience later.

4. White balance recommends sunlight, and the sunset process belongs to a wide range of color temperature changes. Fixing a value is to save trouble later.

From dawn to dark, I miss walking around Beijing with a SLR. It's far. Let's continue to watch the later stage.

How do I shoot is to tell you a simple later way, and this time I want to tell you how to use the slicing tool. Do you think these nine equal parts are cut out little by little? That's really tiring. There is a simple method in PS. Let's look down a little.

At the beginning of the story, you must select all 9 photos and drag them into PS. Click Select All in the cameraraw plugin to adjust these photos together. If you must ask why? First, high efficiency; Second, if it is a single adjustment, it is likely that the exposure brightness is wrong, and then you have made a wonderful scene of time disorder.

After adjustment, now I will take one of the photos as an example to explain it to you in detail. Do you think the "cutting tool" has only one function? Right-click it and you will find an option called Slice Tool. Click it.

Then continue to right-click the photo and you will see the option of "Slice". Keep clicking.

Now we are looking at the legendary slicing tool, because it is 9 photos, so it is simple to "vertically divide into 9 photos" and then click OK. The following three pictures show the detailed production process.

Cut it for 9 times and then output it, but this output method does not take the usual way, and you may never need it. Select "Save as web Format" in "File" and you will find a whole new world.

The relevant interface is like this. You only need to choose JPG storage format, and the quality is customized. Please do not check sRGB in the color space. If you want to print it out later, that's another matter.

Click Save, the default conditions are enough, and then we will witness the moment when the miracle happens.

Did you find the text of your photo (oh no, photo slice) in the path you saved? They have been cut, and now we just need to combine the related slices.

With 1 photo as the background, arrange 1 slice of the picture in sequence, the second slice of the second picture, and so on, and the finished product is completed. Is it simple?

As the old saying goes, the camera is in your hand and the idea is in your head, so take your other half out to shoot. In fact, I didn't have any good equipment at that time, but I took a picture when I saw someone else doing it, which was quite interesting. I hope the students can enlighten themselves after reading it. In addition, people are no longer allowed to shoot in this place, so I won't tell you the specific location. Of course, if you have the heart, you can find it.
