Asakusa Masahisa's Works

20 10 British photography magazine asked photographers and writers to select the best photography collections in the past 25 years. Unexpectedly, Asase's photo collection "Crow" actually beat the masterpiece of American female photographer Nan Golding, ranking first. In fact, Masahisa Asase's photo album The Crow is the most concentrated expression of his style.

Crow started around 1976 when the second marriage was about to end, and lasted for six years. In his works, obscure crows, frightening wilderness and deep black and white tones fully reveal his melancholy mood. The album was first released on 1986 and republished in 2008.
