In the early days of the People's Republic of China, there were more than 50 professional Peking Opera Troupes in Hebei, and there were Peking Opera Troupes in all provinces and cities. After 1953, Peking Opera no longer performed on the same stage as other operas. After 1966, Hebei Peking Opera Troupe, Tangshan Peking Opera Troupe and Zhangjiakou Peking Opera Troupe all exerted great influence throughout the country. During the "Ten Years of Unrest", some local troupes were forced to study Peking Opera one after another, but only eight model operas were performed. However, amateur Peking Opera Troupe and ticketing agencies are all over the province.

After Beijing Opera was introduced into Hebei, it had a great influence on local operas in Hebei. The repertoire, make-up, costumes, performances and music of Beijing Opera have influenced Hebei local operas to varying degrees.
