How to guide children to draw at home when they are 6 years old?

By watching the video of Lele's growth recorded by myself, I found that the child could draw a closed circle with pen and ink when he was 2 years old. Like other children, his artistic experiences and attempts will have the characteristics given by their age characteristics. Like other mothers, I will face confusion and confusion when guiding my children's art.

The following is a record of Lele's artistic experience, a record of my groping process, which may have many similarities with you and your children.

First contact

To teach children to draw, my initial practice is just to let them draw on the clipboard, erase it after drawing, and then draw.

The real intention behind this practice is to exercise the coordination of children's movements and save paper, without considering the preservation of children's works and how to use them afterwards. Later, I gave my child a blank piece of paper, a pen or pencil (because it was handy, it was very convenient to use), but the child's work was still not preserved and was inadvertently discarded.

Although there are many regrets, such as not keeping the works, not guiding children to try all kinds of pens and paper, not guiding children to try the feeling of point, line and surface, and so on. The only gain is that I let my child play freely and don't interfere with him. He is also willing to try all kinds. Judging from his expression and mood, he is very happy.

This is an unintentional act. I didn't realize that this practice should run through the whole process of children's painting (referring to children before the age of 6), so when someone put forward the opposite practice, I didn't insist on it and inadvertently abandoned the good practice.

stage Ⅱ

When Lele was almost two and a half years old, grandma came to help. It was grandma who brought the children into the second stage of painting. I forgot to instruct my children to draw for a long time before this. Because I am blind in painting and don't know how to guide, I ignore my responsibility in this respect.

However, I soon found that grandma always painted trees, the sun and grass. She seems to think that only children can draw these things before they can draw anything else. I also found a problem with Lele. Children don't dare to draw, they cry when they draw, and adults can draw and he will watch.

I think something is wrong! Through the experience of other mothers on the Internet, I found a "theoretical basis": I can't draw model pictures for my children. It is unscientific to let such a young child reach the standard of an adult. But grandma couldn't turn around for a while, so I "announced" that I would undertake the task of teaching children to draw in the future. On the first day, I scribbled a few strokes on the paper with a pencil and told the child what it was, but the child said it didn't look like it. I said it was my mother's idea, that's all. Slowly, children can accept their own "messy" paintings and dare to write. After painting, I also asked him to talk about the meaning of painting. Later, I bought solid watercolors for my children to experience colors, which brought them a lot of fun. Grandma is very happy to see the children dare to draw, and sometimes they draw a little artistic conception.

But more children draw by themselves, and they don't get much help from me. Although when using paint, I spread a small piece of plastic cloth on the small table and let the children draw with the only brush in the watercolor box and an abandoned brush.

Yogurt cup is connected to the pen, and I know that the water in the cup should be changed frequently, otherwise the picture will be ugly when the colors are mixed together, but that's it. At that time, I didn't know that children were particular about the number of brushes they used at a time; Whether the child is sitting at the table, sitting on the ground or standing, there are doorways; There is also a lot to teach in the understanding and experience of color.

At the same time, I bought colored mud for my children and instructed them to knead jiaozi and wrap jiaozi. I also bought an origami book and instructed him to fold it with me. I broke one corner, and he learned how to break another corner. At first, he didn't dare to fold it for fear that it wouldn't work well. Later, I played origami while killing time in the station wagon and gave my work to the children next to me. Lele's interest is wide open, and it will be unstoppable in the future.

Looking back now, I didn't realize that bricklayers and papermakers are also a form of art. Although I know how to play with colored mud, origami and tear paper for my children like other mothers, I didn't realize that they are all forms of art and can be used alternately with painting activities.

The third stage

The second stage lasted more than two years. When Lele was 4 years old and 8 months old, one day, I checked the catalogues of "books read by mom" and "books read by Lele" (I listed my own books in one catalogue) and found that I didn't buy many art books, and some of them were not very good. So I searched online and found a children's art website and a book that I thought was very good.

During that time, Lele was particularly obsessed with origami. He created all kinds of paper airplanes. I vaguely feel that origami and painting are interlinked, and he should be willing to accept painting. At the same time, I learned from the parents of children who are learning painting from the teacher that the teacher's teaching method is still very suitable for the characteristics of young children. So I decided to sign up the children.

Before, I also made some preparations with my children. Because children always think that they draw very well, I choose my words carefully when I speak (if I say to learn painting from the teacher, the children will say that I already know how to draw, so I don't need to learn):

"Do you want to go to the teacher to draw?"

"Yes!"

"Go every Sunday and insist on 12 times! Can you persist? "

"Yes!"

So, I began to collect his works with my children, including more than 50 paintings in kindergarten (thanks to the active cooperation of his teachers here). Painting and children were interviewed by teachers, and many teachers liked them very much. Lele went home and said proudly, "I said I painted well!" " Seeing that the child has confidence, I encouraged him to say, "Draw in the teacher's place! You must insist on 12 times! "In the following days, he really insisted on 12 times and didn't miss a class.

Because every class is very expensive (according to my feeling), if only a child paints for an hour at the teacher's place, I have learned nothing, which is really a "big head". It is precisely because of my secular concept that my children and I walked into the hall of appreciating art and won the praise of the teacher: "You are the best mother to cooperate with teaching!" " "I feel ashamed to think about it now, but the result is good and I am very satisfied.

Appendix 1 is a record of my thinking and learning about what happened before and after class 12. From ignorance to beginning to understanding, from introduction to understanding to understanding, it is a step-by-step process. I hope it will help readers.

12 What happened before and after the art class made Lele gain a lot. There has been a qualitative leap in the brush, color, size and shape of drawing paper, the understanding and application of points, lines and surfaces, and the understanding and application of black, white and gray. Among them, he experienced and felt more about color. He learned about warm colors, cool colors, three sets of complementary colors (red and green, purple and lemon yellow, lake blue and orange yellow), a set of contrast colors (black and lemon yellow), intermediate colors, and various favorite colors he proposed. At the same time, I dare to explore and try clay sculpture, paper cutting, paper tearing, clipping, architecture, photography and so on, and feel endless fun. Being able to explore new fun for himself is the biggest gain of his psychological growth when he explores practice in the art field.

For me, I have learned a lot.

For children and me, art teachers play a powerful guiding role. Without her guidance, we wouldn't know how to study.

I realized that mother's auxiliary role was very important. Because the teacher doesn't give lessons to every child, it is impossible to fully understand every child, and only one hour a week gives guidance to the children. For example, teachers advocate letting children experience the feeling of various pens, such as oil painting pens and writing brushes (soft pens). But in class, children usually use oil painting pens and have no chance to use writing brushes. So I provide opportunities and conditions for children to use at home. After several long-time use, Lele realized the respective characteristics and effects of oil painting pen and writing brush (the strokes are smoother than oil painting pen when drawing lines) and applied them flexibly in practice.

The fourth stage

Because of the teacher's work arrangement, she left Beijing temporarily, which also interrupted Lele's opportunity to continue painting with her.

But Lele didn't stop painting because of this, but for about two months. He didn't want to use gouache paint, but rather used pencils, pens and colored pencils, which he thought were convenient. Until one day, I spread tools like paint cloth on the floor. When he got home, he saw it and said, "Oh, I just want to paint with gouache." I said happily, "We are going together!" That day, I seized the opportunity to inspire him that gouache paint is not only convenient for drawing color blocks, but also can bring out various colors. He repeatedly said yes. He showed his sensitivity to gouache again. This has strengthened my belief that only what children like to do can be done best. The gouache painting he painted that day was the most aura and best in the past two months. This also taught me another lesson: "Learning to wait is the quality that parents should have when raising their children."

At this stage, because I haven't mastered the relevant knowledge about the use of colored paper, I still try to let my children draw on white paper, just changing the shape of the paper and using round paper. Lele was very excited about this new attempt and soon mastered the essentials of composition. At the same time, artistic activities such as architecture, origami, photography, paper-cutting, paper tearing and bricklaying still often appear in his daily life. I screened the electronic versions of these works and edited them into CDs. Some of these paintings are considered good by the teacher, and some were painted after classes were suspended, so I have to judge them, which is also a test of whether my appreciation ability has improved after studying art. After a while, when I showed my child his previous works (CD format), I just saw half of them. The child said, "Mom, I don't want to see them. I want to paint. " This is exactly what I expect: to bring great encouragement to children and stimulate new creative enthusiasm.

At the same time, I also bought some famous albums (including Chinese and foreign ones) to enjoy with my children. For example, the postcard-sized album Appreciating the world famous paintings, we once enjoyed the works of Klee and Matisse together. When appreciating, let him talk about his feelings about the paintings first, then I will talk about my feelings, and then look at the names given to each work by the author. The feelings of the three are sometimes the same, but sometimes they are quite different. Seeing my child waiting for me to read the author's name seriously, I easily told him that everyone feels different when reading a painting, because everyone feels different about life (except those physical paintings that can be seen at a glance). After enjoying it, I quickly turned over the album and asked the child to tell me whether he liked the painting or not. One of them, he likes almost every painting, and the other likes half the content. Later, we enjoyed the works of Van Gogh and Picasso together. Children don't like Van Gogh's Flowers Blooming and Gardening, but they like Picasso's paintings full of magical imagination. The choice of children makes me feel the artistic language and thinking of children. I think I need to send him these artistic messages often to make him more aware of his needs and likes.

From learning painting with children, I realized that art is one of the many ways to express human feelings (including language, music, art, etc.). ) and should not be inadvertently deprived by us. Even if my children have no chance to learn painting from teachers in the future, I will not give up using various art forms such as brush, paper-cutting, bricklaying, architecture and photography to guide children to express their feelings about life. This has nothing to do with whether children will become painters in the future, because this is what we human beings need.

Because the art class has its own collection of 12 painting information resources, it can be reviewed frequently, and the content is gradually integrated into the mind. In the daily life of raising Lele, I can choose the methods and skills that can guide him to try according to the child's ability at that time, and gradually penetrate into the child's body bit by bit. But the most important thing is to let children experience happiness. I myself have gained great happiness because of his creation. The above two "desk lamps" made of waste materials can be said to be another small reward for my efforts.
