Why is agate so cheap?

Agate is very cheap because of its large output and modern machine processing. In China, South Red Agate is mainly produced in Baoshan, Yunnan and Liangshan, Sichuan, and North Red Agate is mainly produced in Nenjiang, Yichun, Heilongjiang. Most of the agate stones in China come from abroad, including Indian agate and Brazilian agate.

One reason why agate is cheap is that the output is too large, and the other reason is that it is processed by modern machines. However, not all agates are cheap. Some small varieties such as south red agate are also of medium value, and the fine products in agate are also very expensive.

The main producing areas of agate in China are: south red agate, which is produced in Baoshan, Yunnan and Liangshan, Sichuan; North red agate, produced in Nenjiang area of Yichun, Heilongjiang; Zhan Guohong, produced in Beipiao, Liaoning and Xuanhua, Hebei; Yuhua Stone is produced in Liuhe District of Nanjing and yuetang town of Yizheng City of Yangzhou.

Purple-green agate, produced in Shangluo, Shaanxi; Yanyuan agate, produced in Yanyuan County, Sichuan Province; Alashan agate is produced in Alashan area of Inner Mongolia. Most agate stones in China come from abroad, such as Malagasy agate, Indian agate, Brazilian agate and Turkish agate.
