What is puffer fish?

Puffer fish, originally known as river bream, also known as ship and wax head, usually refers to bony fish, puffer fish, puffer fish of various genera.

Freshwater dolphins, also known as puffer fish, freshwater dolphins and freshwater whales, are poisonous, not a single species, but a general term for some cetaceans that adapt to freshwater habitats such as rivers and lakes, so they are also called freshwater dolphins and freshwater whales. All kinds of freshwater dolphins are far apart and come from different evolutionary branches, so freshwater dolphins are a general concept and have no taxonomic significance.

Freshwater dolphins in a broad sense refer to all whales and dolphins living in fresh water. For example, in 2006, the "2006 Yangtze River Freshwater Dolphin Survey" initiated by scholars from many countries in China was aimed at two unrelated species, baiji and finless porpoise.

Freshwater dolphins in a narrow sense refer to several cetaceans with the characteristics of long beak, round forehead and small eyes summarized in morphological taxonomy. The baiji belongs to this category, while the finless porpoise does not. In addition, puffer fish, which mainly live in the ocean, are also classified into this category because of their typical appearance as freshwater dolphins.
