Photographer Tobias Friedrich/UPY 20 18 has been eager to photograph these motorcycles in Egyptian thrips for many years. Friedrich created depth with panoramic images with lights and won the first prize in the annual underwater photography master competition. Judge Peter rowlands called the photo "full of light and perfect composition" and predicted that "there is no better photo on this subject."

Safe navigation (Gianni Pecchiar/UPY 20 18) won the runner-up in the shipwreck category of the annual underwater photography masters competition. Ghianni Pagyar took this photo in Rijeka when he was diving on the reef in Kelpolo.
