Satellites cover the whole world. Why is there no signal in Tibet's no man's land?

The heart covers the whole world, so there will be satellite signals everywhere, but cell phone signals can only be obtained by base station coverage. Because there is no base station in Tibet, there is no cell phone signal. Many people may not know about satellite signals, and always think that satellite signals are just like cell phone signals. As long as there is satellite coverage, we can use our mobile phones at will, but when we arrived in Tibet, we found that there was no signal at all. This is because the satellite signal is different from the cell phone signal.

The satellite signal is transmitted by the satellite antenna of the uplink station of the ground satellite to the satellite fixed above the equator, and then received by the satellite for frequency conversion and amplification, and then transmitted by the transmitting antenna according to the coverage area, and received by the ground satellite receiving user. Satellites have many functions. We can use satellite phones to receive signals, but the signals mentioned here refer to cell phone signals. Cell phone signals are obtained through the connection of base stations set up by communication companies in different areas, but there are no base stations in some areas because of geographical location, so there is no signal.

Because Tibet is uninhabited most of the time, it is impossible to recover the cost of setting up the communication signal of the base station, so the communication company will not set up the base station and the mobile phone will not be used.

If you want to use satellite phones, the cost is also very high. Usually, the cost of a satellite phone is as high as thousands or even tens of thousands of yuan, and the annual package fee is also several thousand yuan. Its function is still very simple, and it can only be used to make phone calls, send text messages and so on. So satellite phones are only suitable for making calls, not as multifunctional as ordinary mobile phones.
