Camera devices include camera tubes and charge-coupled device (CCD) arrays. The camera tube focuses the scene beam captured by the lens on its light guide target, and uses the electron beam to scan the target surface to produce a voltage output proportional to the light flux at each point on the target surface in a time sequence. A CCD array is a solid device that is a large number of photodiodes arranged in a matrix. The output of each diode is related to the image focused on that point on the array, that is, the light flux projected onto each diode determines its output voltage. Television cameras mainly use CCD arrays. Telecine cameras convert film footage into television image signals. In order to facilitate electronic news gathering and home use, various types of camera-video integrated machines have been produced, which can directly record the captured image signals on tapes. Camera technology is developing in the direction of digitalization, high definition and 16:9 image formats.
