The true meaning of photography

There are more than 80 cliff statues in Tibet, with more than 30,000 statues. During the Tubo period (Tang Dynasty), there were Wang Yaoshan and Pabengka in Lhasa, Zhayangzong and Qingpu in Shannan, Renda and Zhaguoxi in Qamdo and Xiangqu Valley in Shigatse. These statues are influenced by Indian, Nepalese and Central Plains styles.

In the early period of Hou Hong (Song and Yuan Dynasties), there were Downey Zhepu, Qusang and other places, and the statues were noble, elegant and magnificent. The middle period of Hou Hong (around the Ming Dynasty) was the heyday of cliff statues in Tibet, which spread all over the country with different styles and rich Tibetan artistic style.

Yaowangshan Cliff Statue is located at the southern end of lha-sa-lcags-po-ri in Lhasa. It is called "Thousand Buddha Cliff" and "Ten Thousand Buddha Wall". There are more than 5,000 statues, which were excavated during the Tubo period. Rich in content, wide in subject matter and diverse in style. On the mountain about 2 kilometers long, stone carvings are carved, the big ones are as high as several meters, and the small ones are not full of feet, which is magnificent. Statues are mostly Buddha statues and figures, among which the Buddha statues are the most. Buddha statues are mainly composed of buddhas, bodhisattvas, Ming kings, protectors, believers and Tibetan Buddhists.

The writing is mainly based on the Six-character Pravda, and contains some Buddhist scriptures. Statues are rough and simple, mostly colorful, bright and beautiful, mostly from the hands of folk tourism artists. They have high research value and are a precious treasure house of stone carving art. The stone carving at the foot of Wang Yao Mountain is adjacent to the cliff statue. These stone carvings are mainly slate, mainly bas-relief, and are more flexible by combining line carving, relief, relief and other forms of expression.

There are traces of Indonesian artistic style in the statues, but they are full of national characteristics, accurate in modeling, dynamic and prominent, with tough and bold knives and powerful lines, many of which are exquisite. Today, there are still a group of artists who carve scriptures here and do it year after year.

Tip: ① You can visit Raroof Grottoes at will without buying tickets. However, at the "Ten Thousand Buddha Walls", monks sometimes charge 10 yuan, which is dubbed as "mobile ticketing". (2) There are craftsmen who make Mani stone near Wang Yao. These craftsmen are very pious in carving different images of Buddha statues and six-character mantras on slate. Interested friends can visit the whole process of stone carving. ③ The "according to the scene Terrace" on the mountainside of Wang Yao is the best place to shoot the Potala Palace. There is a path next to the White Pagoda, where many photographers and tourists take pictures every day.

(4) During the "Sagazraba" Festival in April of the Tibetan calendar every year, there are a lot of people passing through the scriptures, which is extremely crowded. People think that the pilgrimage in April will be a positive result. ⑤ During the period of the Fifth Dalai Lama, Sang Jiejia, the first division, founded a Tibetan Medical College at the top of Wang Yao in 1695. In the second year after its establishment (1696), it was named "Gabori (Yaowangshan), a city with outstanding achievements and a poor forest in Russia". After the establishment of Tibetan Medical College, many famous medical talents have been trained for Tibetan areas, and some students have been invited to Potala Palace to teach Tibetan medical knowledge such as "Four Continuations" to the Sixth Dalai Lama, which has made immortal contributions to the development of traditional Tibetan medicine.
