In photography, artificial light refers to the artificial light source set by the photographer in order to achieve his creative intention. Lighting lamps and flashlights belong to artificial light.

According to different classification methods, light can be divided into the following categories:

First, according to the classification of light sources

1, the light generated by thermal effect will change color with the change of temperature;

2. Atomic luminescence, that is, the fluorescent substance coated on the inner wall of the fluorescent tube is excited by electromagnetic wave energy to emit light;

3. Synchrotron emits light and carries powerful energy. The light emitted by the atomic furnace belongs to this kind of luminescence.

Second, according to the visual classification

1, visible light, and the seven colors visible to the naked eye are visible light;

2. Invisible light, light invisible to human eyes, such as infrared rays and ultraviolet rays.

The essence of light is electromagnetic wave. In physics, light is generally distinguished according to the frequency of electromagnetic waves: for example, X-ray, ultraviolet light, visible light, infrared light and so on.
