Why is Gitzo's tripod so expensive?

First of all, Gitzo now only makes carbon fiber shelves and heavy alloy shelves, which are expensive because one material is expensive and the other uses more materials.

Among the carbon fiber shelves, there is no shelf with better overall strength (same or similar specifications) than Gitzo in the market. Good things are of course expensive, and few of Gitzo's six-layer carbon fibers can do it, including the stiffness and vibration conduction of its hinge points. There is nothing better in the carbon fiber shelf than his home.

Heavy alloy shelves are another case. Gitzo can only be described as first-class but not top-notch. Many brands of alloy shelves, such as mantua and rrs, are not bad. Of course, good shelves of the same specifications are not cheap.

By the way, the two mentioned above are just lightweight general-purpose photo frames. Many people who play with large format will choose wooden frame. Don't despise people who use wooden frames. They may be experts. Gitzo is not strong in this respect. Several good brands of wooden frame are ries, wolf, berlebach, linhof and so on, most of which are more expensive.

Finally, it is not necessarily good to make a shelf and a platform. Gitzo is a typical chestnut. Its platform can't be said to be poor, but there is really no bright spot (except that the table is light). Generally, Gitzo platform is not recommended regardless of money.
