Three lifestyles and three lifestyles, which one do you choose?

The first article of the new year, return to the original point and talk about personal development.

The biggest gain of 20 19 can be summed up in five words-live more clearly.

Recently, I watched the Tao Te Ching again, but what I didn't understand at first, now I gradually understand that "Tao" is not so mysterious; The Analects of Confucius says that "forty is not confusing, fifty is knowing destiny", and life is constantly experiencing and constantly solving doubts.

On the last day of 20 19, I didn't watch the New Year's Eve party, but watched a movie-Superbody. Scarlett's brain broke through all the limits, developed to 100%, understood the connection of all things, enlightened and upgraded to a "god". Although the brain hole in the movie is too big, it points out a theme-people with higher cognitive ability are more likely to control the overall situation and "do whatever they want". It is of great significance for human existence to improve cognition and pass on knowledge. 3.2 million years ago, human beings originated from East Africa to today, and the whole human history is a process of "living more and understanding more".

Let's go back to today's topic and talk about some things we have figured out in our personal development.

First ask a question: As the designer of your own life, how will you design the next life?

For the vast majority of people, they need to work to make a living, support their families, accumulate wealth and prepare for old-age care when they are adults. Basically, there are three paths that everyone must take.

First, accumulate wealth quickly while young and realize financial freedom as soon as possible.

The first time I accurately understood the word financial freedom was through a friend who was engaged in financial management. Before that, I always thought that financial freedom was that those who had the fate of koi fish got rich overnight with the company's stock after listing, which had nothing to do with themselves. Until this friend told me that financial freedom means that the passive income generated by a person's assets equals or exceeds the daily expenses.

I calculated the monthly expenses, income and expected income growth, and then I was surprised to find that after several years of hard work, I could live a free life financially.

Don't worry about money if you don't work, because there are other channels of cash income. When work is no longer the only means to get money, people are free. You can do what you really want to do, such as travel, photography, writing books or participating in public welfare.

The reality is of course complicated. Think deeply, don't work, time is enough, what should I do? Both travel and play need money; When I was young, medical expenses were very small. If you treat your parents, the cost is actually amazing if you count your own pension in the future. Also, will the rate of return change? Have you considered currency devaluation?

I saw in a news before that in first-tier cities, to achieve financial freedom, you need to have assets of 65.438+0.6 billion. 65438+600 million, 1 100 million! billion ...

Of course, there are always a few people who are capable and lucky. But for ordinary people who are not koi fish's fate, ability and luck are also very popular. Please work hard and work gloriously.

It is a good idea to accumulate and manage wealth with the consciousness of "financial freedom". Relying solely on the wage income of going to work is not as stable as expected. If you lay off employees twice, you will immediately realize the hardships of life. Creating more passive income is conducive to resisting the family financial crisis.

Second, find a lifelong career, continue to invest, and "struggle" for life.

The word lifelong career was seen in Chitan, Huige. Seeing this word, I was moved at once. Finding and continuing a lifelong career is the choice and pursuit of many people, including myself.

When I just graduated, I felt very busy at work and tired of working overtime. I hope I can retire early and rest at home. However, after working in the workplace for several years, the idea of finding a job that is capable to be old has become stronger.

Why is there such a change?

First, the economic pressure is great, and a stable source of income is needed to cope with the growing expenditure and consumption desire; The second is spiritual needs.

For many people, it's like paradise is a pleasure for nothing, but if there is really only fun in life, especially when there is not enough money and they can only enjoy free fun, I'm afraid they will feel bored.

Sense of accomplishment, sense of value, recognition by others, sense of belonging to the team, self-realization, pleasure of acquiring knowledge, strength and influence ... Human needs are diverse and complex.

Do what you like and are good at, get income and happiness, and continue to play a role after retirement. Why not?

Lifelong career, the most important thing is "professional ability".

Simple manual labor is not good, because with the growth of age, physical strength drops rapidly; You can't rely on your position or rank. There is no director or director who will never retire.

Experts and scholars in various fields can rely on their irreplaceable professional ability in a certain field; Literary and art workers can, as long as they have continuous creativity and influence; People who know how to invest will continue to hold or look for "laying chickens", relying on investment experience, ability and vision. ...

Therefore, to choose this road, we must first see what is phased, what is long-term, and what is the essence (ability and resources) behind lifelong career.

Secondly, judge and verify your ability, potential and resources.

Finally, continue to invest and enjoy the benefits and fun brought by lifelong career.

Third, adjust the mentality, reduce the desire, and accept the hardships of old age.

I heard a sentence today-everyone should take full responsibility for his own life.

If you analyze this sentence deeply, you will find that it is right and wrong.

Everyone is born with his own family background, which is bound to have a great influence on life. This is reality. On the other hand, everyone is also the architect of his own destiny. The same starting point and different choices will also lead to different lives.

Most jobs are not easy, and easy jobs have low income or no future. A seemingly easy job may actually be very tiring, or it may take a lot of effort or exchange the same resources to get it. Anyone who preaches that ordinary people can make big money easily should be on guard.

Of course, you can live a relaxed and tired life. The most direct way is to reduce desire and consumption. With low desire and low consumption, there will naturally be less requirements for work and income, and life will be easier. I want to spend 10 thousand to earn 10 thousand. I'm too tired. I just want to spend 1000 to earn 1000.

Frankly speaking, there is nothing wrong with this choice. Aside from the feelings of the rise of great powers, everyone lives his own life. There is nothing wrong with being responsible for your choices and not complaining.

But the biggest problem with this living method is that when I was young, I earned less and spent less, and I didn't develop continuous professional ability and didn't have the capital to make money. When I get older, I have less room for work choices. Maybe it's harder than when I was young, and even the living standard when I was young can't be satisfied.

Maybe we have to tighten our belts, maybe we have to do hard physical labor, and there is even a crisis of survival. Adjusting mentality is the only choice.

These are three life choices.

In this decade, everyone has experienced skyrocketing housing prices, consumerism, being a fool for not lending, and mass entrepreneurship and innovation; It also experienced the "new normal" of economic development, stock market crash, P2P thunder, and the wave of layoffs in the workplace. Middle-aged friends may also have experienced the youthful exuberance of "spring breeze is proud of horseshoe disease, and Chang 'an flowers can be seen in one day" and the self-doubt and anxiety of "colorful clouds are easy to disperse and glass is fragile".

How to choose the next road in the new era?

Personal views and choices are: 1, struggling with financial freedom (expanding passive income channels); 2. Actively explore lifelong career, and constantly improve the required ability and resources; 3. Control the desire and consumption level, and don't be led by the consumerism of the media.
