A short story about Chairman Mao getting along with the working people.
1947, after crossing the Yellow River eastward, Mao Zedong took a jeep to Xibaipo. On the way, he saw a sick girl and a tearful woman on the roadside. His body trembled and he hurried out of the car-the following is the original memory of Mao Zedong guards:
Mao Zedong strode to the woman and the child and touched the child's hand and forehead: "What happened to the child?"
"Sick!" The woman was in tears.
"What disease?"
"A gentleman, please read it, saying it is a cold and rising anger. No matter what you can do with the medicine, if you want to talk nonsense, you can only breathe a sigh of relief now ... "The woman sobbed loudly.
Hearing this, Mao Zedong's eyes turned red and suddenly turned to look at the car. Find a medic.
"I'm here." Zhu said beside Mao Zedong.
"Go and see the children."
Dr. Zhu listened with a stethoscope, took his temperature, and then asked the woman about the child's illness. ...
"Is there any saving?" Mao Zedong voice trembling, carrying a heart.
"save."
"Well, be sure to save her life!" Mao Zedong immediately let go of the voice.
"But this medicine ..."
"myrrh?" Mao Zedong was nervous and worried.
"Yes, there is ... only one left."
"What medicine?"
"penicillin."
"Then use it quickly."
"This is imported medicine, I can't buy it. I don't want to use it when you are sick, so there is no need ... "
"As a last resort, please give your child an injection immediately!"
Dr. Zhu injected the sick child with penicillin, which had not been used for a long time. At that time, antibiotics were not as rampant as they are now, so they were very effective. Dr. Zhu had an injection and fed the child water with a kettle. After a while, the child suddenly raised his eyelids and gently called out, "Mom ..."
The woman's eyes were wide open and tears flowed down like a river. Suddenly fell to his knees with a plop, crying, "Bodhisattva, help Bodhisattva!" "
Tears blurred Mao Zedong's eyes. He turned to Dr. Zhu and said, "You can take the mother and daughter home in the back car. Observe again and come back when the child is fine. "
Later, whenever talking about the child and the tearful mother, Mao Zedong's eyes always turned red: "I wonder how the child is now? It would be nice to bring her for treatment for a period of time ... "He repeatedly lamented:" Farmers lack medical care and medicine, and they have to find ways to get doctors to go to the countryside for dozens of miles if they are sick. Should I eat the food grown by farmers to treat farmers? "
There is absolutely no need for us to comment on this matter. The hearts of the people's leaders and the masses are so close and tight that everyone can understand at a glance.
Second, fish can't live without water.
Mao Zedong was the first leader in the history of China who shouted "Long live the people". The people are supreme in Mao Zedong's mind, which is his unswerving belief.
He regards serving the people as the highest realm and pursuit of China and party member. The five characters of "Serving the People" written by him are forever engraved in xinhua gate, which is known as the first country.
Mao Zedong felt like a duck to water in the crowd and looked very happy. When talking about the relationship with the people, Mao Zedong often uses this metaphor: "There can be no fish in the water, but fish must not be without water." What is the relationship between fish and water? There can be no fish in the water, but fish can't leave the water, so this metaphor is used to describe the relationship between the people and him, the relationship between the party and the masses. Rulers of past dynasties described their relationship with ordinary people as the relationship between water and ships. The boat is on the water, the water is carrying the boat, and the boat is still floating on the water. In other words, feudal rule may still be above the common people. The chairman compared himself to a fish and said that I can never live without you, but you can live without me. I think this is very, very profound.
Mao Zedong, who was born in a peasant family, has always had deep feelings for peasants. From Yan 'an to Beijing, Mao Zedong maintained some hard and simple living habits. Clothes that have been worn for many years are reluctant to throw away. Always patched before wearing, and my eating habits are not very particular. They shed tears when they heard that the peasants were suffering.
On June 3rd, 1942, it rained heavily. The government of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region held a joint meeting of county heads, and the venue was suddenly struck by lightning, and the acting county head of Yanchuan County was killed by lightning. Later, a farmer said, God didn't open his eyes. Why didn't he kill Mao Zedong? The security department was shocked when it heard that it should be traced as a counter-revolutionary incident.
Mao Zedong know, hurriedly stop. He said, "You should investigate why people scold us." The result of the investigation is that there are too many military and political personnel in the border area, too much public grain is levied, and the people's burden is too heavy, which leads to the dissatisfaction of the masses.
Through this incident, Mao Zedong began to reflect on the Party's policies and decided to implement "better troops and simpler administration". Mao Zedong also wrote an inscription "Do it yourself, have plenty of food and clothing". Thus began a vigorous mass production movement.
Third, take a picture of the chairman for the first time.
1937165438+10, Xu had just joined the revolution and worked as a photography officer in the Propaganda Department of the Political Department behind the Eighth Route Army. One day, the organization told Xu that there was an important activity to shoot, and the details would not be known until the airport. When Xu arrived at the airport, there were few people here. After waiting for a while, Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Bo Gu Kailai, Xiao Jinguang and other important Yan 'an leaders all came to the airport. When the plane arrived, many people got off the plane before Xu could react. It turned out that the Soviet Union sent a special plane to send Wang Ming and Kang Sheng back to Yan 'an from Moscow, and Chen Yun got on the plane from Xinjiang, accompanied by some entourage. At that time, Xu Gang had just arrived in Yan 'an, and he didn't know many people well. He had to try to get more shots of the chairman. Seeing Xu gesticulating with a camera, the chairman said, "Let's take a picture together." Then they naturally stood together (see Biography, 132, photo by Xu). At that time, Xu used a small old camera with no automatic device and wide-angle lens. He had to stay away and take photos with the chairman as the center. Because I am not familiar with it, this photo almost encircles Wang Ming standing by the camera. Just after taking a photo, suddenly a foreigner pulled Xu aside and asked, "Where are you from?" Xu said: "I am the propaganda officer of the rear political department, and I was informed by the organization to take this photo." However, this person is dubious. Just now, someone knew Xu and proved Xu's identity to him. Later, Xu Cai knew that this man was a doctor of Ma and had been to Yan 'an with a famous American writer. But at that time, he was so upset that he missed the opportunity to take pictures. After getting familiar with Ma, Xu always joked with him and said, "Dr. Ma, I was taking pictures at the airport. Do you doubt me? Is this your responsibility? " Ma Haide himself felt funny.
The most satisfactory photo
In order to cultivate Xu organizationally, he was sent to the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University to study. 1938, Mao Zedong made a report on protracted war in the 4th Brigade of the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University. Xu took a camera and prepared to take more photos for the chairman, but there were many people listening, and the venue was packed. He couldn't get in and couldn't see the chairman. Xu walked around the room, looking for several angles, hoping to capture the chairman and the audience. Holding a camera to choose, in the end, he had to stand aside, photographed the chairman's profile and included the audience in the camera. This photo was taken at close range for the first time after Xu Xiaobing arrived in Yan 'an. This photo first appeared in 1968. People in the photography circle think that leading figures dare to take pictures from the side, which also brings the contrast of the audience. The chairman's image almost filled the picture, and he grasped it very well in an instant, and his movements were very vivid, so this photo was sent out again and again (see "The Picture", 159, taken by Xu).
The story of the Kuomintang hat badge
Among the photos taken by Xu, there are countless photos with historical and artistic value, and one of them has a special experience. This photo was taken by Lao Xu during the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China. At that time, Mr. Zhu was still the commander-in-chief of the Eighth Route Army, wearing a Kuomintang military cap. Careful people will find that there was a revision when it was published. Compared with Xu's original photos, we can see that the hat emblem of the Kuomintang on Mr. Zhu's hat has been removed. There are still two versions of this photo circulating in the world. In the process of editing Biography of Mao Zedong, Xu repeatedly stressed that it should be published as it is. 1988, Japan invited Mr. and Mrs. Xu to Japan to hold a photo exhibition and exhibited the original photos. Asahi Shimbun published a special article in this regard, praising the producers of China for respecting the original history. Xu said that photos record history and we should respect history. History is history and no one can change it.
Follow the chairman back to Shaoshan
1June, 959, President Mao Zedong returned to Shaoshanchong, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, his hometown after 32 years' absence. This is the first time he has returned to his hometown since he took part in the revolution. Shaoshan is boiling because of his return. When Mao Zedong arrived in Shaoshan, it was already dark. At 5 o'clock the next morning, he walked out of his residence. Hou Bo doesn't know where the chairman is going. She followed the chairman with her camera on her back. On the top of a hill, the chairman came to his parents' grave and bowed (see Photo Biography of Mao Zedong, page 238, taken by Hou Bo). Unprepared, the entourage quickly broke off a branch from the cypress tree next to it and offered it to the grave of the chairman's parents. After the silence, the chairman made a wish to his parents: I will come back to see you again when I have the chance.
On the way down the mountain, there was a sea of people in front of the chairman's former residence. He went to his old neighbor's house first. He handed a cigarette to his old neighbor, and at the same time chatted cordially with the villagers in the dialect that had not changed for many years.
Hou Bo stood outside the door and photographed this joyful moment.
This photo truly reflects the deep friendship between Mao Zedong and the villagers. This made Hou Bo realize that taking photos of leaders should not only show their great temperament, but also show their true feelings. Such photos are authentic and touching (see Biography of Mao Zedong, page 428, taken by Hou Bo).
"Come on, let's take a picture together."
During the period of 1949, Mao Zedong took a rest and worked in Shuangqing Mountain Villa in Xiangshan, Beijing, and met guests at home and abroad. One day in May, I received the task assigned by the organization and went to Xiangshan to assist Xu in completing the photography work of the chairman meeting foreign guests. At that time, Hou Bo's work unit was still in Beiping Film Studio, and the Central Committee called him to inform him of something, and sometimes he came to meet him. After the meeting, after the guests left, Hou Bo packed his machinery and prepared to leave. At this time, the chairman turned to greet them to sit down. He knew Xu when he was in Yan 'an, but he never met him. Xu Xiaobing introduced Hou Bo to the chairman: "This is my lover." The chairman asked Hou Bo where his hometown was, and Hou Bo replied, "Xia County, Shaanxi Province." The chairman said, "Oh! It's from Guan Yunchang! Chen Geng has won several great victories in your hometown! When did you arrive in Yanan? " Hou Bo replied again, 1939. The chairman said, "You grew up eating millet from northern Shaanxi, so you should serve the people well. "
The chairman's witty words relaxed Hou Bo's nervous psychology. She didn't expect the chairman to be so approachable and humorous. Considering that it won't take up the chairman's time too much, Hou Bo got up and said goodbye to the chairman, but Hou Bo always wanted to take a photo with him. Unexpectedly, the chairman stood up and said, "Come, let's take a group photo together." Xinhua News Agency reporter Zhengqing Chen, who accompanied Hou Bo and his party, raised his camera and asked Mr. and Mrs. Hou Bo to take a photo with the chairman. And Xu stood on both sides of the chairman. At this time, the chairman shook his head and said, "No, lesbians hold up half the sky and should stand in the middle." The chairman stood imperiously on Hou Bo's left. Zhengqing Chen pressed the shutter, and this precious photo was born.
For a long time, Hou Bo treasured this photo and didn't take it out. It was not made public until later. Many people saw the photos and asked Hou Bo curiously, "Should the chairman stand in the middle?" Every time, Hou Bo will introduce the situation at that time. This is also the first time that Hou Bo has met with the Chairman. She didn't expect that she was later transferred to Zhongnanhai. Later, the chairman's activities increased. Considering that the activities of the chairman and the central leaders should be recorded by photos, Zhongnanhai needs a full-time photographer, and Hou Bo was transferred to Zhongnanhai. When he was transferred, Hou Bo was the director of photography department of Beiping Film Studio. After arriving in Zhongnanhai, she was also the head of the photography department. In fact, she is the only one. Later, after a long time, the chairman asked, "What do you call a section chief Hou?" ? Don't be so long. "Until now, people around the President have always called her" Hou ".
"Nanjing Liberation" is suspected of "posing"
1April, 949, Xu and the staff around Chairman lived in Xiangshan. One morning, the chairman came out of the room, and the secretary came over and handed him an extra copy of People's Daily, saying, "Chairman, Nanjing Liberation Newspaper is out!" " Chairman Mao took the newspaper and read it while walking. At this time, Xu picked up the camera, but he couldn't photograph the chairman's face, so he had to wait patiently. After reading for a while, the chairman saw a stool beside him, sat down conveniently and continued reading with a newspaper in his hand. Afraid of influencing the chairman to read the newspaper, Xu quietly followed the chairman. When the chairman saw the front page of the newspaper, the headline "Nanjing Liberation" stood out. Xu pressed the shutter, leaving an eternal moment in history.
Chairman Mao's "The People's Liberation Army Occupy Nanjing" was completed at this time;
Zhongshan is windy and rainy, and millions of heroes cross the river.
The distance between the tiger and the dragon plate is better than in the past, turned upside down and natural and graceful.
It is advisable to chase after the poor bandits with the remaining courage, not to learn from the overlord.
If the sky is sentimental, it will grow old, and the right way in the world is vicissitudes.
Today, Xu fondly recalls the past: "I took a lot of photos of Chairman Mao in Xiangshan. The most meaningful thing for me is that he carefully read the historical footage outside Nanjing's liberation." Ironically, many photographers think that this photo is "posed" and regard it as a typical pose. Xu Xiaobing said with a smile, "We are engaged in news and taking photos of leaders. How dare we be at the mercy of others! "
The chairman swam across the Yangtze River.
There is a swimming pool in Zhongnanhai, but the chairman is not interested in it. Comparatively speaking, he prefers swimming in rivers, lakes and seas. He has a special affection for the rivers in China. 1956 in may, the chairman came to Wuhan from Guangzhou via Changsha and wanted to go swimming in the Yangtze river. Wang, secretary of Hubei Provincial Party Committee, was worried that there were many eddies and schistosomiasis in the river ... However, he failed to convince the chairman for various reasons. As long as he makes up his mind, it's no use persuading anyone. Wang had to organize a few people to try to swim in the Yangtze River first, but he felt that the whirlpool was not strong enough, so he could rest assured after swimming.
That afternoon, accompanied by Yang, Wang and others, Chairman Mao came to the foot of Snake Mountain and got into the water at the pier of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. Everyone in the factory came out. As soon as the chairman got into the water, people ran to the shore for fear of an accident. But the chairman is particularly confident. He swims in various postures, such as butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke and even standing in the water. Hou Bo has prepared a camera and film, but she is afraid to go into the water, so she can only shoot on the boat. While she was changing the film, the boat flashed and the carton containing the film fell into the water. At this moment, the chairman just swam over. He grabbed the box, stood in the water, opened the carton and read the English instructions while reading it. Unfortunately, Hou Bo was loading film and didn't take this scene.
The chairman swam all the way to Danchi near Hankou before landing. He swam more than 30 kilometers in more than two hours. Later, he wrote the famous "Swimming with Water and Eyes" to describe this kind of swimming:
Just drink Changsha water,
Eating Wuchang fish again.
Crossing the Yangtze River,
Looking at Google on a surface.
No matter how stormy it is,
Better than walking around,
What a relief today.
Son in sichuan yue:
The deceased is like a husband.
……
Speaking of the story behind the chairman's photo, two old people in Kan Kan talked about it. Their thinking is very clear, and they remember everything with the chairman. The photos taken by Mr. and Mrs. Xu for the chairman vividly show the great man's open-minded bearing and natural demeanor, which amazed many people. In fact, the experience of taking pictures of the chairman for many years has made them know that the chairman doesn't like taking pictures, and his personal photos are taken when the chairman is not paying attention. The chairman said more than once, don't just aim the camera at me, but aim more at the masses. Contact with the chairman, their biggest feeling is that the chairman especially likes to be close to the masses. During this year, he spent nearly half his time inspecting all parts of the country. During the inspection, he often walked into the farmhouse and asked about their lives and crops. He talked with the masses and really cared about their sufferings. ...
The sun set in the west, and the room gradually darkened. More than three hours have passed, and Tan Xing is still strong. 1 10 anniversary chairman's birthday, and frequently invited two old people to attend various activities. These days, they are very hard, but they are still full of energy and patience. As the staff who once lived beside the chairman, at this moment, they and the cameras in their hands are all witnesses of history.
1in August, 942, it rained cats and dogs, and a grain requisition meeting was being held in the small auditorium of the government of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia border region. Suddenly there was a thunder and a wooden pillar in the auditorium was cut off. Comrade Li Caiyun, the county magistrate of Yanchuan County who attended the meeting, was electrocuted. After this incident came out, some people said: Why didn't Lei split Chairman Mao? This word reached the ears of Chairman Mao. Chairman Mao didn't ask anyone to track down those who scolded him, let alone catch "counter-revolutionaries", but asked cadres to "scold". It turns out that the grain requisition task issued by the border region government is heavy, and the masses have opinions, so they use thunder to vent their dissatisfaction. Knowing what happened, Chairman Mao instructed the relevant departments to reduce the task of collecting agricultural grain from 200,000 tons (300 kilograms per load) to160,000 tons. The handling of this matter has brought the relationship between the party and the masses closer, and Chairman Mao's prestige among the masses has been further improved.
