Character profile of Sheng Meibing

Sheng Meibingnan graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing University of the Arts in 1982, majoring in oil painting. He currently teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts, Nanjing Normal University, as a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor.

From September 1996 to July 1997, he went to Union College N.Y.U.S.A. in New York as a visiting scholar to study Western painting and photography. During the winter vacation in December 1996, Concordia College contacted and provided funds to go to France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany to inspect the Louvre in Paris, the Pompidou Center for Modern Art, and the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels. From January to June 1997, he visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
