How to finish portrait photography?

Lead: When taking portraits, lighting is particularly important. People with poor light tend to shoot dull and strong light, which can easily lead to overexposure. So how do you polish the portrait? Come and have a look with me!

How to match the light in portrait photography

In order to take this high-profile portrait photo, we placed a roll of 5-foot (about 1.5m) long white seamless paper in the background. The roll of paper was hung on two lamp holders connected by telescopic poles (two sandbags were used to stabilize the lamp holders), and a supporting point illuminated the seamless paper upward. Another advantage is that a beauty dish and diffusion socks are used as the main light source and placed in front of the model. Another 27-inch soft box has the advantage of illuminating the model upward to fill the shadow area.

I stood in front of the model. A Cosmetic Contact Lenses plate is installed on the ceiling lamp (it is fixed on the lamp holder like a soft box), and a diffusion sock is installed on the front cover of the Cosmetic Contact Lenses plate, which can soften the light while maintaining a certain hardness. The dome light is placed in a very high position, with its back to 45? The horn shines on the model; The dome light is close to the model (this is easier to see in other pictures).

left elevation

In this photo, you can clearly see the auxiliary lights under the model. With a 27-inch one? Strongpoint in the 27-inch soft box fills the shadows under the neck, eyes and nose of the model, which will have a very unusual effect. Is the auxiliary light also facing 45 backward? The horn shone on the model. You can also see the background light, which shines upward on the white seamless paper to create a pure white background.

Right line of sight view

Sometimes you will hear that this dual-lamp lighting scheme is called. Clam shell? Cloth lights, because the double lights look like mussels from this side. If there is no second lamp, the model can also hold a silver reflector. The reflector is placed at the height of the wardrobe to reflect the light from the ceiling lamp.

?

I let the model get close to the soft box below and let the soft box touch the waist of the model. Because the bottom lamp is so close to the model, the power of the bottom strong point must be adjusted to the lowest, and the top lamp is brighter than the bottom lamp (here, the top lamp is brighter than the bottom lamp by 3/ 10). If the bottom light is brighter, it will have the same horrible effect as Frankenstein.

Because this is a big photo of a beautiful woman, the focus is undoubtedly on the model's face. So do more facial retouching than usual photos. Moreover, the model also holds a flower close to her face, which stands out in the photo. This means that we should also make sure that the flowers look beautiful. So, in order to get the effect we want, this special photo needs us to take some extra steps.
