Correct adjustment method of rearview mirror

The correct way to adjust the rearview mirror;

According to the sitting height of the driver's seat, adjust the front and rear positions of the seat so that the driver's line of sight just passes through the side windows of the left and right rearview mirrors and is aligned with the rear side of the car. Adjust the up and down position of the rearview mirror, so that the up and down edges of the rearview mirror are aligned with the edges of the car body, which is convenient for the driver to observe the road conditions behind. Adjust the interior rearview mirror to completely cover the rear view to ensure the best view of the driver.

The rearview mirror is a tool for the driver to directly obtain external information such as the back, side and bottom of the car while sitting in the cab seat. In order to facilitate the driver's operation, prevent traffic accidents and ensure personal safety, all countries stipulate that rearview mirrors must be installed on cars, and all rearview mirrors must be able to adjust the direction.

On July 1 day, 2023, the national standard number GB 15084-2022 "Performance and Installation Requirements of Indirect Vision Devices for Motor Vehicles" was officially implemented. This new national standard adds "camera-monitor system (CMS)" and "mirror and CMS dual-function system". This means that cars can be equipped with electronic rearview mirrors instead of traditional optical rearview mirrors.

Structure principle of rearview mirror:

The rearview mirror has a vision problem, that is, the range that the mirror can reflect. There are three visual elements in the industry, namely, the distance from the driver's eyes to the rearview mirror; Dimensions and radius of curvature of rearview mirror. There is a certain relationship between these three elements. When the distance and size of the rearview mirror are the same, the smaller the radius of curvature of the mirror, the larger the field of view reflected by the mirror.

When the radius of curvature of the mirror is the same, the larger the size of the mirror, the larger the field of vision reflected by the mirror. At the same time, the rearview mirror also has a reflectivity index. The higher the reflectivity, the clearer the image reflected by the mirror. The reflectivity is related to the reflective film material on the inner surface of the mirror.

With the increase of the speed of ordinary cars, wind resistance and noise are important issues for designers to consider. Therefore, the outline of the exterior rearview mirror should conform to aerodynamics, and the lines should be smooth to minimize wind resistance and noise.
