Pengxi Xiantao has a long history. As early as the Tang Dynasty, the longevity peaches planted in Bajiao Village and Heiheigou Village in Renlong Town were tribute to the palace. During the Qing Dynasty, they were replanted into Eight Immortals peaches, which are still favored by the upper class. In recent years, the Pengxi County Party Committee and the County People's Government have focused on Xiantao as a key project to optimize the structure and help farmers increase their income. They have implemented school-site integration with Sichuan Agricultural University and established projects in Renlongbai Niya and Bajiao Village on Provincial Highway 304 in 8 other areas. Each village has unified planning, unified organization of seedlings, unified planting, unified technical training, and unified management, and established a 10,000-acre Xiantao Science and Technology Demonstration Park. The radiation has driven Renlong, Gaosheng, Huangni and other towns to develop the Xiantao industry, and built a high-quality Xiantao base. 51,000 acres, with an annual output of more than 60,000 tons. According to the plan, by 2013, the county's peach planting area in Pengxi will reach 300,000 acres, establishing the second largest high-quality peach production base in Sichuan and the largest Xiantao industry demonstration county in the country.
Pengxi Xiantao Base passed the Ministry of Agriculture’s pollution-free agricultural product base certification in 2005. In 2009, the county passed the overall certification of the pollution-free agricultural product origin by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture. The production of Pengxi Xiantao is carried out in strict accordance with pollution-free and green food production standards. It is a concrete embodiment of Pengxi's advantageous and characteristic agricultural products and agriculture's "original ecology, standardization, branding and intensification", with excellent color, aroma, taste and shape. The maturity period of Pengxi Xiantao is mainly concentrated from late June to the end of mid-July, accounting for 70% of the total output. It matures more than 10 days earlier than the same variety in other areas and is available earlier; Pengxi Xiantao is extremely resistant to storage and transportation and has a long shelf life. Up to 15 days; Pengxi Xiantao has an elegant appearance and large fruit. Generally, a single fruit weighs more than 200 grams, and the maximum fruit weight is 420 grams. It also has the characteristics of bright color, white and red, natural aroma, crisp and delicious. According to the determination of Sichuan Agricultural University, the soluble solid content of Pengxi Xiantao reaches 15.1%. It is rich in a variety of proteins, vitamins and mineral elements needed by the human body. It especially has a unique effect on increasing the amount of hemoglobin in the human body and nourishing and beautifying the skin. It is a real green original ecological food.

Pengxi Xiantao is produced in Pengxi County, Suining City, Sichuan Province, located in the east of the central part of the Sichuan Basin. All 31 townships (towns) belong to the natural villages, specifically Luoge Township, Wenjing Town, Xinxing Township, Xinsheng Township, Huaihua Township, Banqiao Township, Chicheng Town, Xinhui Town, Xiadong Township, Mingfeng Town, Baofan Town, Mingyue Town, Changle Town, Tianfu Town, Huishui Township, Hongjiang Town, Qunli Township, Jixiang Town, Dashi Town, Jixing Township, Gaosheng Township, Renlong Town, Huangni Township, Jinlong Township, Sanfeng Town, Jinqiao Township, Gaoping Town, Heye Township, Pengnan Town, Nongxing Township, and Qunli Town. The geographical coordinates are 105°3′26″-105°59′49″ east longitude and 30°22′11″ north latitude. -30°56′30″. The protected area is 38,800 hectares, with an annual output of 450,000 tons.
Product quality characteristics
(1) External sensory characteristics: Pengxi Xiantao fruit is medium-large and short oval in shape. The suture line is obvious, the two halves are asymmetrical, the fruit top is flat, the fruit tip is slightly concave, and the fruit depression is deep. The bottom of the fruit is milky yellow, with flaky redness on the sunny side, and medium villi. The flesh is white, thin, crisp, and tastes pure and sweet. Free from the core, the core is medium and large, brown with a little pink. Excellent quality. (2) Intrinsic quality indicators: Pengxi Xiantao has soluble solids ≥12%, edible rate ≥80%, and is rich in vitamin C.
