Liuzhou
As a history worker and lover, when I first come to Liuzhou, Guangxi, I must first visit the Liuzhou Industrial Museum. The Industrial Museum is located on the south side of the east side of Wenchang Bridge in Yufeng District, Liuzhou City, across the street from Yaobu ??Ancient Town.
This museum is a national AAAA-level scenic spot and is also open to the public free of charge. (Reservations are required during the epidemic) It integrates industrial history display, industrial heritage protection, scientific knowledge popularization, tourism and leisure.
When I first arrived, just the exterior of the museum attracted me deeply. There is an air of youth here, without any heavy feeling of steel.
Are all industrial museums boring? No!
At least the Liuzhou Industrial Museum is a museum that keeps up with the trends of the times. Not only can you learn about the industrial development history of Liuzhou City for more than 100 years, but it is also a museum that breaks the traditional industrial display.
Walking in the outdoor exhibition area, the air is fresh and the green environment is excellent.
We went straight to the 24-hour book bar to experience the rich campus atmosphere. It is also a veritable photo-taking place and a check-in spot for Internet celebrities.
Follow the signs and enter the ecological park.
Its exterior is a combination of heavy industrial park and pastoral style, giving people a brand new visual experience.
Manufactured by Liuzhou Automobile Factory, it seems to occupy a dominant position in the displays in this area.
Next, we walked into the inner hall of Liuzhou Industrial Museum for a tour.
The first thing that catches the eye is the double-action press made in France in the 1950s. It was introduced from France by Liuzhou Mini Car Factory in the 1980s and used for the production of large automotive stamping parts.
The reliefs on the wall are delicately polished, vividly showing the development process of Liuzhou's industry and various work styles.
Liuzhou's industry covers a wide range of industries, including tanning industry;
traditional oil pressing industry;
logging industry;
wood making industry; (The famous Liuzhou coffins are made by hollowing out the heart of a tree. Liuzhou coffins are famous for their outstanding quality, tight wood, toughness and lightness, no insects and ants, and a long history. There was a saying back then, "Eat in Guangzhou, play in Guangzhou") Suzhou, die in Liuzhou" From this jingle, we can know the reputation of Liuzhou's coffin in the south of the Yangtze River.)
Pharmaceutical industry;
Sugar industry (cane sugar pressing); sucrose is Guangxi's Guangxi's well-known product, Guangxi's annual cane sugar industry now accounts for a large proportion of the country's.
Ironmaking industry;
Heavy industry is one of the most glorious industries in the history of Liuzhou industry, so in the exhibition hall we can see many heavy machinery and simulations of production workshops.
A "charcoal car" in the exhibition hall also has a lot of history. In December 1933, Liu Ji modified two charcoal engines with the gas generator he developed, used one of them to assemble a charcoal-fueled car, and drove it to Nanning for citizens to visit. The birth of charcoal cars created the history of automobile production in Guangxi.
The wisdom, diligence and dedication of the Guangxi people can be seen everywhere in this industrial museum.
Liuzhou is located in the middle of Guangxi, and its geographical location determines that it is a transportation hub in the southwest. As early as the Western Jin Dynasty, the ancients opened a post road from Liuzhou to Guizhou. The Sui Dynasty opened the road to Vietnam. During the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, the road that is now Guizhou---Liuzhou---Guilin---Nanning was opened. A number of routes were opened up before and after, realizing the capabilities of land transportation and north-south water transportation. Therefore, Liuzhou was an important commercial port in ancient times, and its role as a transportation hub was also more prominent.
The first industrial revolution:
In the 1760s, the Englishman Hargreaves invented the "Spinning Jenny". This technological innovation in the British cotton textile industry, kicked off the British Industrial Revolution.
In 1769, the improved steam engine manufactured by the Englishman Watt was put into use and was vigorously promoted and developed. Human society also entered the "Steam Age". Since then, France, Germany, the United States, Japan and other countries have also joined the ranks.
The first industrial revolution was when machine production replaced production labor, and factories replaced handicrafts, completely changing the traditional production method, and then started the urbanization process, kicking off the process of industrialization and modernization in Europe and the United States. The capitalist world system was initially formed.
The Second Industrial Revolution:
Started in the 1870s. Mainly manifested in the widespread use of electricity, the creation of internal combustion engines and new means of transportation, the invention of new means of communication and the creation of the chemical industry.
Representative inventions: the generator invented by Siemens and the electric motor invented by Gramm; the internal combustion engine driven car made by Carl Benz; the airplane made by the Wright brothers; the telephone invented by Bell; Marconi The invention of wireless telegraphy and so on.
After the Second Industrial Revolution, China was deeply affected. The Qing government implemented the Westernization Movement and introduced a series of advanced technologies from the West. Founded China's first batch of modern enterprises, accelerated China's modern development, and also provided favorable conditions for the subsequent development of capitalism.
Liuzhou, with beautiful mountains and rivers, is a famous historical and cultural city, a famous industrial city and a famous tourist city that is closely connected with the history and culture of the motherland.
It is the epitome of China's modern industrialization process. Following the museum's display, we will witness the great changes in Liuzhou over the past century to the brilliant achievements of Liuzhou Manufacturing today. The wisdom, hardship and dedication of Liuzhou people are condensed here. Industry has deposited our common history and emotions, and also created our common wealth and pride.
The first time I came to Liuzhou, I had such a shocking visual and sensory experience. This was a rare learning experience for me who loves history. If you didn’t really have a love for history, how could you write this? The more I write, the more excited I become, and the more I write, the more eloquent I become.
Thank you Liuzhou for bringing me another new growth!
