What should I do if the camera of Apple laptop is blurred?

Just as the whole world turned to online video conferencing, Apple released its popular new version of 13 inch Apple laptop. Better keyboards, faster processors, all the great things (you can see them in our comments). However, one component that has not been upgraded is the system's webcam.

Critics, shoppers and MacBook owners (or potential owners) were quick to point this out. Apple has never been known for having the best webcam. Apple tablet computer, Apple mobile phone, etc. All cameras have good forward-looking and backward-looking functions, but the 720p resolution camera on the MacBook is noisy, looks flat and lacks depth sensing technology.

Now, Apple doesn't know that when zoom conferencing and other video conferencing software become the new standard, a new Apple laptop will be released. This is the same camera that the company has been putting on the laptop for many years. This is not the first time we have complained. Many Windows laptops are not much better. Many of them have resolutions below 1080p, but at least some of them have better sensitivity, color accuracy or depth when logging in for facial recognition.

So, what should we do?

At least there is a reasonable chance that you can have an online video conference through an Apple computer or similar device. That means you don't look the best. Especially for a small low-hanging laptop like Air, if you put the camera on your desk or dining table and aim it at you, your camera will not be at the best angle.

One option is to use the camera of the mobile phone. The front camera and the rear camera are better than any of your laptops. In order to watch TV in my home office, I have been installing a tripod clip as high as my eyes for my mobile phone (which will be described in detail later).

Yes, you can also connect Logitech or other companies' external cameras, but now most models are sold out in Amazon and other places, so you may get stuck in the built-in cameras. Whether it's an Apple laptop or other laptops, here's how to make full use of it.

If your laptop is close to the ergonomic position of your hand, it is not the best place to zoom the meeting. Buy some big books. Buy some huge board game boxes. Lift that sucker. Use a big coffee table book or something, it won't shake too much. Don't use empty cartons.

Where do you want the camera to point? Let it be just above the eyes.

Good lighting can cure (most) diseases.

MacBook Air webcam looks particularly bad in poor light. So do many other laptop webcams. This is why movies, television and professional photography are full of huge lights. You don't need all this, but a good natural sunlight source is a simple and cheap way to greatly improve your camera shooting. Face the window, not the back. You want the camera to see the light from the window, not the window itself.

If there is no natural light, don't spend too much money on fancy lighting settings. The UBeesize set costs less than $50, including an 8-inch ring lamp, a tripod for mounting it and a telephone clip. Almost everyone at CNET is using this setting or something similar now.

My colleague Brian Cooley has many more general webcam setting skills, including some good suggestions on headphones and microphones, although your mobile phone headset or CD should be able to broadcast live on CNN.
