Distribution of major mountain ranges in Asia

The first mountain belt is located in the east-west uplift belt connecting the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Iranian Plateau and the Anatolian Plateau.

The Pamir Mountain Knot and Armenia Mountain are the hubs, and a series of tall mountains extend eastward and westward.

On the north side of the uplift belt, there are mainly Gaojiasuo Mountain, Elbers Mountain, Hindu Kush Mountain, Kunlun Mountain, Altun Mountain and Qilian Mountain. Jinniu Mountain, Zagros Mountain, Suleiman Mountain, Karakorum Mountain and Himalayas are the main areas on the south side of the uplift belt.

The second mountain belt is located in central and eastern Asia, sandwiched between the Mongolian Plateau, the Tarim Basin and the Central Siberian Plateau. It consists of a series of northwest and northeast mountains, some of which are distributed in the east-west direction. The main mountain ranges in the west are Sayanling, Hang 'ai Mountain, Altai Mountain and Tianshan Mountain. There are Ya Blauf Mountain, Waixing 'an Mountain and Yinshan Mountain in the east.

The third mountain belt is distributed in the northeast-southwest direction on the eastern edge of the Asian continent, structurally belonging to the Neocathaysian uplift belt, and the easternmost pillar includes several mountains on the island arc of the western Pacific Ocean. The second column is the West Hote Mountains and the mountains along the Liaodong Peninsula, the Korean Peninsula and the southeast coast of China. The third column includes Zhugeju Mountain, Daxinganling Mountain, Taihang Mountain, Wushan Mountain and Xuefeng Mountain.
