How to choose the lens of SLR camera for tourism photography

There are many kinds of lenses in SLR cameras, and there are different views on the needs of different users. So which camera is better to take pictures with when traveling? You can imagine. Let's share a detailed strategy for choosing a SLR camera lens.

Traveling with a camera is inevitable. I will share my own travel experience with you. I am also a travel photographer. I usually take three lenses when I go out. 1 yes 16-35, 2 is 50 fixed focus and 3 is 70-200 Guo Xuwei. Why did I take these three shots out is my frequent experience.

I use a Canon 5D3. Generally, I choose 70-200, and 70-200 is a very good shot. It is not only convenient to use the lens, but also a good lens for portraits. Controlling his depth of field and blurring the background is an ideal shot, so I usually take him with me everywhere.

16-35 is a very classic lens. Shooting big scenes and wide-angle scenery is a very overbearing weapon. Moreover, 16-35 is also very useful for shooting environmental portraits.

50 fixed focus, you can use the on-hook lens, or you can bring your own necessary requirements. 50 is small, light and easy to carry, so I will take it with me when I go out. I usually use it to shoot people and portraits, where a large aperture is needed.

Everyone should have guessed what lens these two photos on my website were taken with! In fact, I always shoot with 70-200 Guo Xuwei, which gives me a very ordinary lens, so I suggest you don't give up 70-200. Without 70-200, many of your scenes will fall far behind, because there are some scenes that you can't shoot there when you travel, just like a stage play, which are all necessary shots of 70-200.

If I were you, I'd rather take 17-40 and 70-200.

The following is part of my previous lens combination. The focal length overlap of our lenses is quite high. I am 16-35, 70-200, 50L, 70-300.

Let's talk about the choice of 17-40L and 24- 105L.

I think 24- 105L is a good focal length, but the biggest problem is that its wide-angle end is only 24mm, which is seriously distorted. The lens hair color is not as comfortable as 17-40L. In tourist attractions, if there are many people, many people will take pictures with their mobile phones. The focal length of mobile phones is mostly 24 ~ 28 mm If you use 24- 105L, you will be blocked by tourists. And when you use 17-40L, you are blocking others.

I don't know much about where you are going, but if there are many people in the scenic spot, obviously 17-40L will be more practical than 24- 105L. And 24- 105L is more suitable for traveling to sparsely populated areas such as Tibet and Xinjiang than 17-40L.

The following picture was taken by me with 5D2 hanging 1635LII.

1, 6mm ultra-wide angle, standing in front properly, not interfered by mobile phone party.

2. Secondly, do you want to bring a small spittoon?

17-40L already has a viewing angle of 40mm. In this case, the significance of small spittoon mainly focuses on large caliber. But the law and order in Greece and Italy seems to be not very good. If the trip is bad, you can go out to play at night unless you decide. There are many dark themes, otherwise there is no need to bring a small spittoon.

Portraits of tourists, there is no need to pursue blurring. In most cases, 40mm of 17-40L can handle it.

In addition, the focus of the 6D is so urgent that the large aperture of the small spittoon may not work well on the 6 D.

So my opinion is that 50mm fixed focus can be put at home.

3,70-200 can be brought!

Generally speaking, this kind of tour will not run many times in a lifetime. A medium telephoto angle of 70-200 can bring you many different records.

For example, when I was playing in Thailand, I took a lot of photos with a telephoto lens like 70-300. Nowadays, mobile phone photography is becoming more and more common, and the SLR camera with medium telephoto lens can better reflect your "different" picture.
