Currently, the Meixi Lake International Culture and Art Center is optimizing its conceptual plan and will start construction in late October this year and be completed and put into use in 2015. After learning the news, Su Xiaoming felt excited.

It is understood that through the construction of large-scale cultural and art facilities with an 1,800-seat grand theater and art gallery, Meixi Lake International Cultural and Art Center will become a collection of large-scale operas, dance dramas, symphonies and other elegant art performances and cultural and art exhibitions. It is a nationally leading and world-class international cultural and art center that integrates cultural and artistic exchange, cultural and artistic training and other functions. Its annual reception capacity reaches 250 events and approximately 310,000 people.

Opposite the Art Center across the island is the International R&D Center on the South Bank.
