Important attractions in Zhonglu Town

Zhonglu Town has a long history and many scenic spots. The ruins of Zhonglu Tusi are at the present town government. The existing relics include a garden-shaped Tai Chi stone carving with a diameter of 5 meters. The old administration of Zhonglu Chieftain was at the old Siba of Zhongzhong Road River in Fengle Village. Located 1 km west of Zhonglu Street on the east bank of Yujiang River, it was the seat of Longqu County in the Southern Song Dynasty. The cultural layer is 40 cm to 1 meter thick. Zhong Road preserves the unique characteristics of local Tujia folk customs in residential buildings and living habits. Zhonglu has a profound cultural heritage, with literati and poets emerging in an endless stream; sports culture is developed, and it is a swimming base for teenagers across the state; it is a famous old district, the Soviet District, with many red revolutionary sites such as Zhangye Temple, Hanpoling, Longtangpu Tax Card, etc., and is the first in Lichuan The first party branch was built in Shuangmiao. Local folk songs such as gongs and drums, filial piety songs and lantern songs are unique.

Houjianghe Hot Spring is located 1.25 kilometers west of Zhonglu Market Town. It can be reached by boat from the Houjianghe Ferry in about 20 minutes. The spring water has a constant temperature of 32℃-39℃ and a daily flow of 810 tons. It is a rare original natural hot spring in Enshi Prefecture.

The undeveloped Houjianghe Hot Spring is still an important place for leisure and entertainment for local residents. The surrounding natural environment is beautiful. 600 meters northeast of the hot spring is the "Dong Naoke" outlet of the Houjiang River, due north. It is the majestic "mouth rock". The top is Baizhang Slope, the bottom is Houjiang River, and it is surrounded by mountains and rivers. The spring water never dries up all year round and gushes continuously all year round. With a flow rate of 0.0094 cubic meters per second, it emerges from the spring to the surface, flows 150 meters southwest, and flows into Houjiang River. The hot spring is connected with the "Dong Nao Ke" and the Houjiang River Hydropower Station dam reservoir area. The water temperature in the reservoir area is warm in winter and cool in summer. The surrounding mountains and green water are beautiful, forming the original ecological tourism scenic spot of Quankou Dam.

At present, the town party committee and government adhere to the principle of "adhering to equal emphasis on development and protection" to increase investment in hot spring development, attracting powerful and experienced enterprises to invest in hot springs while maintaining the original ecology. It is planned to be developed and built into a leisure resort integrating mountains and rivers, pleasant flowers and birds, leisure fishing and water entertainment. Gongmu Village is located in Shuangmiao Village, Zhonglu Town, Lichuan City, 40 kilometers away from Lichuan City. The altitude here is more than 1,000 meters. The mountain is shrouded in clouds and mist all year round, and the fairy atmosphere is hazy. People come here to worship gods and Buddhas, climb high and look into the distance, which is a unique experience. The village is composed of two huge rocks that stand out from the top of the mountain. The two peaks are opposite each other, like a couple looking at each other silently. The local people nickname them "Zhai Gong" and "Zhai Mu", which is called Gongmu Village.

The poignant love story between the chieftain’s daughter and the cowherd is widely circulated in the local area. Every February 19th, June 19th and September 19th of the lunar calendar, firecrackers go off in the Gongmu Village and pilgrims Gather. Devoted men and women from all over the world come here to burn incense and worship the Buddha, pray for blessings and fulfill their wishes, and the incense is extremely prosperous. Zhonglu Creek is the world's only remaining habitat for the original population of metasequoia, a seed collection base, and the hometown of the world-famous plant "living fossil" metasequoia. Botanists have only discovered patches of metasequoia forests in small rivers, among which there are 5,746 plants with a diameter at breast height of more than 20 centimeters.

Looking around the current river, you can see patches of metasequoia forests everywhere, lush in spring and summer, golden in autumn and winter. The reputation of "Metasequoia Hometown" has attracted a large number of tourism and photography enthusiasts to come for sightseeing and creation. It is the most valuable tourism resource in Zhonglu Town.
