How to get started with non-professional photography
Fortunately, I read this passage as soon as I entered school. In order to realize my dream of being a journalist with an iron shoulder and morality, I began to prepare early. From my freshman year, I spent my winter and summer vacations as an intern in a provincial media, a prefecture-level media and a public welfare organization, and wrote a special article for a newspaper for a long time.
My major is not journalism. For Xiaobai, a non-professional class, the most important factor for me to find a job in the national media is my media internship experience in winter and summer vacations. Today, taking media practice as an example, I will teach you the skills and channels of applying for internship units in winter and summer vacations, which can also be implemented by students of other majors. Although the direction is different, the methodology is the same.
Freshman just started school. In order to increase my news acumen and improve my writing ability, I joined the press corps of the school when I entered school. This is a student organization under the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of the school, which is different from the student union and student associations. Its main duty is to write articles for the school newspaper.
Soon after joining the group, I learned that we had internship opportunities. Teachers of the school's propaganda department recommend several excellent student journalists to practice on social media every winter and summer vacation to improve our writing ability. Such an opportunity is rare. I inquired about the recommendation conditions from my seniors and sisters in the fastest time, that is, actively contributing to the school newspaper, excellent manuscript quality, attending the weekly meeting on time and so on.
Knowing the conditions, there is only effort left. Small news tofu, interviews with outstanding schoolmates, campus essays, comments ... I actively contributed to various sections, and gradually emerged in the team, making teachers and readers remember my name.
Later, even my aunt surprised me. Once I forgot my dormitory key. I went downstairs to borrow the key from my aunt, who was about to write my name in the register. My aunt said to me, "You don't have to write. I know you and often see your name in the newspaper. " At that time, there were mixed feelings for a moment, and I felt that my efforts were finally in vain.
I got the first batch of internship opportunities among 100 people, and came to a provincial media during the winter vacation. This internship also laid the foundation for my future internship application and career planning.
There are many such opportunities on university campuses. As far as our school is concerned, students from the Student Union are recommended to practice in government departments every year. This experience is very precious for students who want to take a career in the future.
There are also some student associations, because they hold activities or get sponsorship, and have contact with local companies in the school. They can also take this channel and recommend them through the person in charge of the association.
In addition, if you are mixed in the student group, you will have a lot of contact with the instructors. University teachers have a wide circle of friends and many resources. If you want to practice, you can also find a good teacher to help you contact.
With the first internship experience, I will be familiar with it in the future.
On the one hand, I continue to write articles on the platform of the school newspaper, let my name appear in the newspaper as much as possible, cut all the articles from the newspaper, and make newspaper clippings with the articles published during the internship for the examiner to read during the interview.
During the interview, I interviewed a younger brother with great personality. During the winter vacation, he took his camera and materials to Tibet to carry out public welfare activities, and the response was very good. The manuscript published after the interview unexpectedly won the provincial good news award, and was later pushed to the national selection Committee by the provincial department, and won a national award, which greatly beautified my resume.
On the other hand, I began to pay attention to various websites and look for internship opportunities myself.
Because the first internship was at school, it was inconvenient to stay and eat, so this time I mainly focused on the media units in my hometown. Many things happen. Near the summer vacation, I saw a mainstream media in my hometown recruiting interns for the position of intern reporter. So I made a resume, summed up the articles that have been published, the awards I won, and the last internship experience, and delivered it to the designated mailbox in time, so I started my second internship as I wished.
For students of other majors who want to apply for holiday internship, they can pay more attention to the websites of relevant companies and their recruitment information. Even if there is no relevant news, they can call the office to recommend themselves. Many companies have some staged jobs, which are just suitable for recruiting temporary employees.
Students who want to practice in their hometown can even find acquaintances to recommend them. General internship units do not pay wages, or the salary base is very low. This is exactly what they expect for cheap labor.
The third internship is also my proudest one, which is different from the previous two. One is that I am not in winter and summer vacation, and the other is that I don't need to work. This time I became a writer for a special media issue.
Students who often read newspapers should be familiar with it. Many paper media will open up supplements in order to enrich the content of newspapers, some of which are literary and artistic, some are published in photographs, and some are aimed at a large-scale event.
The media I contributed opened a special issue of "The Most Woman in Island City" to introduce some outstanding local women to everyone. However, due to the regular news interview tasks of newspaper reporters, there is not enough manpower, so they recruit part-time jobs.
However, this recruitment was not conducted publicly, but was introduced by an acquaintance. I haven't been exposed to this media, but my good friend in the school reporter circle has worked as an intern here. Because of his excellent performance during the internship, he kept good contact with the newspaper after the internship. When the newspaper urgently needed people to open a special issue, it contacted her first and asked her to introduce another reliable writer.
So my classmates introduced me, and we happily accepted the title of "author of special issue". Taking this opportunity, we interviewed female entrepreneurs, famous designers and a popular screenwriter, which greatly enriched our contacts and knowledge. And the fee I get for each manuscript is 180 yuan. I got my newspaper money order at the post office, and it said "manuscript fee", which is unparalleled.
It is important to actively integrate into the professional circle. Not only can you recommend each other when you have internship opportunities, but you can also share fresh information in your daily life for the first time, so that the team can warm up and make progress together.
In addition to my internship in a media organization, I also worked as an editor of an internal magazine and newspaper of a non-profit organization. I won the opportunity myself, because a graduate alumnus was very curious about public welfare in the process of interviewing him, so he took the initiative to take over the editing work of magazines and newspapers.
Many internship experiences not only let me integrate into the workplace in advance, but also exercise my various abilities and beautify my resume. Compared with those students who have no internship experience in school, my resume helped me win my first job search after graduation, and I got my wish to enter the national media.
I hope that the students who are still on campus will make full use of their time and resources, take the initiative to attack and win at the starting line of job hunting.
