How to shoot the starry sky with SLR?

With a SLR, we can shoot the brilliant starry sky that we can't see with our naked eyes. Follow my steps and you will do it.

One: Shooting season

The general rule is that in summer, the Milky Way is the brightest and lasts the longest, which is most conducive to shooting. The orbit was taken in winter, and it is cleaner without the influence of the Milky Way. When the Milky Way appears and launches depends on which month. In the northern hemisphere, April-July (summer) is the most suitable season to photograph the Milky Way.

Two: Preparation for Shooting

Use the APP to know where the Milky Way will appear, when and where to shoot at the beginning and end of a clear month, and avoid the full moon in the middle of the month. Too much moonlight will seriously affect shooting. When will the Milky Way appear, when will it retreat and when will it be the most beautiful? Many app star softwares in mobile phones can be queried, such as PlanIt. For photographers, Photopills, Distant Suns, Stellarium, etc. all have very accurate information.

Three: equipment selection

Large aperture lens, as wide as possible (regardless of the aperture in orbit), so that we can not only see most of the galaxy cores, but also capture more scenery and suitable prospects. This combination will make our composition more convenient! ? A SLR camera lens? For example, 24- 105mm or 24-70mm and so on. It's really difficult to shoot the Milky Way and the meteor. Consider taking a picture of the star orbit, especially the east-west star orbit. Generally, a super wide-angle lens with a 2.8 lens is recommended. Ultra-wide angle fixed focus is the best. 14 fixed focus is the best, and 14-24 and 16-35 are also star weapons.

Tripod, tripod materials are wood, high-strength plastics, alloy materials, steel and carbon fiber. It is always right to choose the expensive one.

Four: shooting parameters

1. Set the camera to M exposure mode, ISO3200 or above, and the exposure time is 30 seconds;

The bigger the aperture, the better. The aperture value is expressed by f, and the smaller the f value, the larger the aperture. For example, the aperture of F2.8 is larger than that of F5.6 If it is a super-large aperture lens, the exposure time is about F2, 15 seconds, if f/2.8 is ISO 1600, 20 seconds to 30 seconds, and if F/4 is ISO 1600-3200:F/4.

3. Set the focus mode to M (manual focus), and then focus with the high beam, so that the focus is basically infinite, so that the photographed stars are clear.

4. Put the camera on the tripod, be sure to be steady. Press the shutter, wait for 30 seconds to expose the camera, and then see what it captures.

5. If you know what the RAW photo format is, please shoot in RAW format, so that the film adjusted later will look better.

Well, after writing so much, I still need to practice. I hope all the masters can make ideal blockbusters.
