How to draw a light-chasing stick figure

The method of chasing light painting is as follows:

Feather 10 pixels with lasso tool. Select the area as shown below and fill it with the desired color. Erase some gradients with an eraser or mask tool to make the light more realistic. The opacity of the layer is reduced to 20%. The first light and shadow is completed.

What is chasing light?

During the performance, the lights focus on following the performers. In the late 1960s, the stage "Chasing Light" became popular. During the performance, in order to highlight the image of the main characters, the lights of the whole audience were dimmed, leaving only a beam of light directly on the actor's face, following the actor's movements to highlight the' close-up' at this moment. Increase the intensity of drama rendering.

This effect requires a spotlight, such as a gun. (as shown in the figure) A super light bulb of several kilowatts is installed inside, and the aperture controlled by the light beam is similar to the internal camera, which can be adjusted freely by the operator. Illuminate the face or the whole body.

Direction of light:

Light is the decisive factor of picture characteristics. Different light will have different effects on the picture. Before you start writing, you should determine the direction of the light. The light commonly used in the picture is backlight and side light.

When backlight is used, different objects in the picture merge into one, and their internal details and structures disappear into silhouette-like outlines.

The use of side light can emphasize the contrast between light and dark on the surface of the object, and effectively render the volume of the light-receiving object by showing strong side light. Use side light to make the picture show a strong shadow effect.

Light intensity:

Strong light and weak light can create different picture atmosphere. Strong light: bold expression of strong light, depicting the shape of shadows, making the contrast between light and shade more eye-catching. Because the shapes of light and shadow are different, we should diversify the edges of light and shadow.

Low light:

Landscape painting in weak light has a mysterious feeling, and weak light will affect people's subjective feelings. The bright colors in the picture become more neutral and move towards a unified gray scale. In weak light, the color in the picture is impure, usually cold, so try to express it with soft colors to reduce the level of light and shade. Landscape painting in low light mainly shows the characteristics of light, not specific scenery.

Cold light and warm light:

Cold and warm light will also have a great influence on the atmosphere of the picture. In the cold light environment, the overall picture is cold, creating a quiet, cool and calm atmosphere.

In the warm light environment, the overall color of the picture is warmer, creating a warm, warm and healing atmosphere. Visually, warm light is more colorful than cold light.
