1, practice focusing?

Look for two different objects in your frame, such as a flower in front and a flower not far behind.

Or you can find an object with a larger distance difference, and then practice changing the focus from one object to another, and then move back. It's called shifting focus.

?

This is a good way to add a little movement to still video.

This can effectively help us get a good sense of focus, and then it is easier to find a way to move the focus.

When we shoot at ordinary times, it is very important to focus on following the focus. We can't find a focus to follow around everything, even if we are nearby, we may not be able to grasp the focus position well. At this time, you still need to rely on your own feelings.

2, practice the center of gravity and then shake it.

In these exercises, we can try to capture objects with uneven moving speed, and then see if we can grasp the change of moving speed of objects well in the lens.

We can't predict where these subjects will go, whether they will stop or suddenly accelerate.

?

If they suddenly run out of your lens, can we change the lens in time and recapture them?

Step 3 practice pitching

First, we need to find something higher, such as trees, tall buildings or street lamps. Then, these objects are trained to pitch and sway back and forth at different speeds.

This helps us get used to the feel of the tripod, so as to grasp the different resilience of the tripod more clearly and understand the different feelings presented at high and low speeds.

Find some heights: a tree, a building, a lamppost. Practice tilting objects and then come back. Practice using different speeds.

4. Practice using zoom lever or zoom ring.

Many people like to add zoom lenses to their videos, so this exercise is essential.

?

The smooth use of zoom and the accurate pause need to be mastered in practice.

The zoom lens is prone to hard nodes and movement, which needs to be avoided in actual operation.

Step 5 practice telling stories

After practicing some basic contents before, you can start thinking about how to practice telling stories better.

Try to shoot three different small lens fragments to form a short story.

For example, we shot the following three shots:

Mr. Wang opened the door and got into the driver's seat.

Mr. Wang is typing in front of the computer

Mr. Wang opened the door with a key and walked into his home. His children stuck their heads out to meet him.

These are three completely different photo clips, but when they are combined, it can be said that this is Mr. A's day's work.

Then, for example, a short story about eating oats, you can shoot three times like this:

Pour oats from the oat bag into the bowl.

Pick up a spoon and eat oats.

Rinse the empty bowl in the sink.

These three shots describe a process before and after eating oats.

Of course, the whole process can be filmed, and then these narratives can be completed through post-editing.

But we can think about it. Now we may just take a video of eating oats for a few minutes, which is totally fine.

If you want to shoot a story for hours or even days, this is obviously not appropriate. We can't keep the machine running.

6. Try different shooting angles and ways.

We can try to shoot an object from at least 10 different angles, and a few seconds is enough for each clip.

Here are some tips on the available angles:

inclination

angle of depression

Large elevation angle

Large depression angle

Extreme close-up

Frontal shooting

Side shot

Telephoto shooting

Wide-angle shooting

Close-up of telephoto lens

Wide-angle lens close-up

microspur

etc ...

7. Be familiar with our own shooting machine.

When I say familiar, I mean let's

You can know the position and function of each button on the camera without eyes, so as to make the most timely response and adjustment to the field situation accurately and quickly in actual operation.

Including zebra crossing switch, focus, aperture and so on. The camera is our weapon, you should know the weapon in your hand.

8. Practice changing the aperture smoothly.

When shooting, we may have to change the exposure on the spot according to the current state. At this time, if you can skillfully and smoothly operate the aperture change, it is not impossible to hide this adjustment naturally and smoothly.

PS: There is no mention of changes in lighting and sound, but these two aspects are also very important.
