World Geopark-Zhijin Cave

In order to fully display the colorful ethnic customs and natural scenery of Guizhou and let more people know about the splendid history of Guizhou, the General Office of Guizhou Provincial Government and Colorful Guizhou Network Co., Ltd. jointly launched a special manuscript collection activity of "Illustrating Guizhou".

Zhijin Cave is located at the intersection of Liuchong River and Sancha River, two sources of Wujiang River in the west of Guizhou Plateau. It is a national scenic spot, a national natural heritage site and a national geological park integrating science popularization, exploration, research, sightseeing and vacation, and it is also the only world geological park in Guizhou Province at present.

Zhijin Cave is a typical karst landform, with carbonate content as high as 90%, covering most types of karst geological relics. It is a natural karst museum with unique geological relics and high aesthetic value.

Zhijin Cave is a multi-level, multi-system, multi-category and multi-form complete karst system with unique cave characteristics of "big", "strange" and "complete". It is a cave with the highest density of caves, the highest density of stalactites, the richest types and the rarest forms in the world, and it is a veritable "cave paradise".

Zhijin Cave has a good natural ecological environment, rich historical and cultural heritage and rich tourism resources. It has successively won the first place in the list of the most beautiful tourist caves in China, the UNESCO World Geopark, the national 4A-level tourist scenic spot, the National Geopark, and the China National Natural Heritage and Land Resources Science Popularization Base.

2015 September 19, Zhijin Cave was officially approved as a UNESCO World Geopark at the 4th Asia-Pacific World Geopark Conference held in Yin Shan Coast Geopark.
