This old street is located in Song'ao Town, Fenghua District, Ningbo City. It was built under the supervision of Li Qijun, a Jinshi of the Yuan Dynasty and a member of the Li clan of Song'ao Haiyan Village, when he retired from old age and returned to his hometown.

The entire street took two years to build. The street is paved with bricks made from clay, hence the name Brick Street.

The Brick Street at that time had disappeared in the smoke of history. The existing market was rebuilt later and was called Song'ao Old Street.

Historically, Song'ao Old Street has always been the business center in southeastern Fenghua. It was not until the end of the 20th century that it gradually declined and eventually faded out of the historical stage.

Nowadays, Song'ao Town has built a new bustling commercial street on both sides of Zhenxing Road, while Song'ao Old Street has become a street market that almost no one cares about.

Although abandoned, the old buildings in Song'ao Old Street are well preserved.

Now when you walk into Song'ao Old Street, you can see a main street connected to more than a dozen winding alleys, with shops on both sides of the streets.

Almost all of these shops are closed, but the signs or slogans on the facades, as well as the political slogans of the last century, are still clearly identifiable.

The slightly aged shops exude a strong atmosphere of the times, and almost every shop has a story that is ready to be told.

Distributed among these streets are the Back House, East House, Zhuo Zekai’s Former Residence, Zhuo Lanfang Memorial Hall, Zhuo Ancestral Hall, Jingyou Temple, Plum Blossom Park and Red Cultural Park and other historical sites or landscapes. .

The Dongdong Residence, also known as Qingyue Hall, commonly known as Shidiwen, was built by Zhuo Di Gong during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. Because Zhuo Di Gong was not prosperous, he named himself Qing Yue.

The plaque of Qingyue Hall was inscribed by Zhuang Fu, a veteran of the Kuomintang and teacher of Chiang Kai-shek.

The gate of the east house is paved with stones shaped like boots, which are called shoe stones.

There are very few foreign tourists on Song'ao Old Street, making the neighborhood look quaint and peaceful.

The monuments and old houses on both sides of the streets give people a deep sense of the times. Being among them makes people involuntarily recall their childhood or the movie scenes of the last century.

There is a plum blossom park next to Song'ao Old Street. The plum blossoms are very beautiful when they are in bloom, and it has become a famous plum blossom viewing spot in Ningbo.

Compared with Nantang Old Street and Hanling Old Street, which are the focus of development in Ningbo, Song'ao Old Street looks very patchy.
