Nanjing Vocational College of Visual Arts, formerly known as Southern Photography Institute, is a private secondary college of Nanjing Forestry University, founded in 1999. After six years of unremitting efforts, it has gradually matured and grown, and has the qualification to run schools independently.

In 2005, with the approval of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, Nanjing Vocational College of Visual Arts was formally established. Since its independence, the College has always adhered to the motto of "Art Innovation, Pursuit of Excellence", aiming at cultivating high-quality professional artistic talents, and won the trust and support from all walks of life.
