The film "Gunfire in Weibao" was jointly produced by Bayi Film Studio, Propaganda Department of Hefei Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, Feixi County Committee and County Government, Hefei Radio and Television Station and Zhong Yi Guangying Culture Media Company. Before the project, it has been approved by the Film Bureau of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. It is planned to start shooting in the first half of the year and broadcast on CCTV film channel at the end of the year.

Liu Mingchuan was a famous Huai army general who fought against Taiping Army in the late Qing Dynasty. He was in charge of the military affairs in Taiwan Province Province, and was the first governor of Taiwan Province Province after the Anti-French War. Liu's former residence is a cross-strait exchange base and one of the national key cultural relics protection units in Anhui Province. One of the 64 national treasures that are permanently forbidden to go abroad for exhibition, The White Plate of Mi Jizi, comes from here, and the film The Gunshot of Bao Xu will be filmed here. As a tribute to the 70th anniversary of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, this film, as the first anti-Japanese war film in Hefei, tells the soul-stirring story of Liu Mingchuan's descendants, with the help of the New Fourth Army and patriots, struggling tenaciously with the Japanese invaders to protect their homeland and national treasure after the fall of Hefei, showing the indomitable spirit and invincible heroic feelings of the Chinese nation. At the same time, the film also embeds the history of Huai Army in Feixi, and the launching ceremony is one of the series of activities for the 30th anniversary of Liu Mingchuan's anti-French protection of Taiwan/KLOC-0.

At the press conference, producer Zhang Zhengjun said that he was from Hefei, Anhui. The purpose of planning this film is to repay my hometown, do some work for the development of film and television culture industry in my hometown, publicize Huai Army and Liu Scenic Area through the film, and promote the tourism construction in my hometown. Although the film encountered many problems in the process of script creation and preparation, it never gave up, and finally overcame many difficulties to realize the opening of the film.
