A synopsis of Private Zhang Ga;

During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, in Baiyangdian, Hebei Province, Zhang Ga (Ann Keith), a naughty and reckless teenager, witnessed her grandmother escape to cover the Eighth Route Army and was finally killed by the Japanese invaders. He went to the county alone and found Luo Jinbao (Zhang Ying), the guerrilla platoon leader, to help him avenge his grandmother. However, when he really met Luo Jinbao, he regarded him as a traitor and made a joke.

After the misunderstanding was cleared up, Zhang Ga dreamed of becoming a driver of the Eighth Route Army and wanted to own a gun. As a result, because he wanted a gun so badly, he not only cheated when betting with Ponton (Wu Keqin), but also violated discipline and secretly hid the real gun collected in a battle in a bird's nest in a tree, which made a joke again. Zhang Ga didn't take this joke as a joke. I can't figure it out. He made an appointment with Xiao Pang to come to the county to avenge his grandmother.

In the county seat, Zhang Ga meets the demon Kameda (Ge Cunzhuang) and the fat translator (Wang Shu). They fight with each other, but they get nothing from Zhang Ga. After a series of experiences, Zhang Ga grew from a reckless teenager to a real Eighth Route Army scout.
