What are the three animals that China first brought into space?

The three animals that China brought into space for the first time were eight mice (four mice and four rats), two puppies "Bao Xiao" and "Shanshan", and fruit flies.

1On July 9, 964, China's first bio-sounding rocket "T-7A/S 1" was launched in Guangde, Anhui Province, and eight rats and two puppies were ejected at high altitude, which was a success. This space biology experiment is the first time that China sent animals into space. Its purpose is to study the effects of overweight and weightlessness, high-altitude ejection and cosmic radiation on organisms, and to provide an important basis for manned space flight in the future.

In addition to this experiment, China also conducted other experiments on space animals. For example, in July of 1966, two puppies Bao Xiao and Shan Shan were sent into the sounding rocket T-7A/S2. This experiment is considered as the most important experiment in space biology. Bao Xiao and Shan Shan's contribution was made into a documentary "Marching into the Universe: China's Space Dream Flying Dog".
