After passing the Putian City Procuratorate on Licheng Avenue in Putian City, you will definitely see two lush ancient trees-Qiu Feng, one is about 2 10 years old and the other is about 220 years old. These two ancient trees have been rescued by injuries from relevant departments, and now they are flourishing, which is very "calm" in the reinforced concrete city. The reporter learned yesterday that there are 284 ancient and famous trees in the planning area of Putian City, including these two ancient trees. Recently, these ancient and famous trees have been included in the urban green line protection. In order to protect and utilize the resources of ancient and famous trees, Putian City also proposed to establish ten ecological protection zones for ancient trees, namely Shishi Rock, Guanghua Temple, Guo Huan Temple, Putian No.6 Middle School, Xi Shou Park, Daicheng Village, Qindong and Xiqin Village, Shuang Fu Village, Xiahengshan Village and Songshan Temple.

There are 284 ancient and famous trees in Putian Planning Area.

Yesterday, the reporter saw that two ancient Qiu Feng plants were nearly 20 meters high, opposite the Putian City Procuratorate. In 2009, residents nearby found that the roots of two ancient trees rotted and the leaves fell off, so they asked the relevant departments for help. Putian City Landscape Management Bureau sent people to the site to check and found that the "culprit" of the root rot of ancient Qiu Feng was the surrounding sewer pipes, and the ancient trees were flooded due to the rupture of the pipes. If not rescued, these ancient trees will soon dry up and die. As a result, the staff immediately drained Gu and Gu came back to life.

These two ancient Qiu Feng trees originated in Putian, and there are many old and famous trees that are more than 200 years old in the urban planning area of Putian. Among them, the most familiar one is Song Jiaxiang, a thousand-year-old pear located on Dongyuan Road.

Last year, Putian Garden Department conducted an audit of ancient and famous trees within the urban planning scope, and a total of 284 ancient and famous trees were registered. Among them, there are 50 strains in Chengxiang District, 7 1 strain in Licheng District, 0/36 strains in Hanjiang District and 27 strains in Xiuyu District.

There are 20 kinds of ancient and famous trees in Putian, among which banyan, litchi, Taxodium ascendens and longan are the majority. Among them, there are 86 banyan trees, 73 litchi trees and 20 Metasequoia glyptostroboides, which shows that banyan trees and litchi trees are the main local tree species and adapt to the local soil and climate conditions. Banyan, litchi and longan are widely distributed in old villages, old streets and ancient temples, and are protected as landscape trees or "Feng Shui trees".

According to experts in Putian, the physiological functions of ancient trees are gradually declining due to their own aging. For example, the "Zhang Jin" trunk of the Dongshan Ancestral Temple in Putian is gradually aging and dying. At the same time, a few fruit farmers simply started from production efficiency, ignoring the rejuvenation and protection of ancient litchi trees and ancient longan trees, resulting in the number of ancient trees decreasing year by year. The site environment conditions of ancient and famous trees are poor, and some ancient trees have narrow growth space, surrounded by garbage and sewage, and their physical and chemical properties deteriorate, which accelerates their aging. In addition, the maintenance management is not in place, and diseases and insect pests of ancient and famous trees, typhoons, lightning strikes and other damages abound.

According to preliminary investigation and statistics, among the 284 registered ancient and famous trees, 7 have died, such as litchi in Huangxia Village, Guo Huan Town; 1 The plant is endangered, that is, Pinus massoniana in Putian No.6 Middle School in Hanjiang District; There are 35 termites that are seriously damaged, such as the old Taxodium ascendens in Guanghua Temple; 12 strain is poorly protected, such as Fenghuangmu in Guanghua Temple. In this plan, 8 1 tree is listed as an ancient and famous tree that needs urgent rescue in the near future.

At present, the urgent task is to implement rescue protection measures for ancient and famous trees, and take engineering construction measures such as supporting, pruning, drainage, insect prevention, filling tree holes, loosening soil and fertilizing, and setting lightning protection facilities.
