What about the fuse in Donnie Yen?

Ye Weixin and Donnie Yen's first two works (Kill the Wolf and Dragon Humen) have made great breakthroughs in action design every time, even subversive breakthroughs. These two films have also raised Donnie Yen's fame to a new height, making him the only kung fu star in China film industry who can keep pace with Jackie Chan (listening to songs and blogging) and Jet Li (blogging). In fact, with his martial arts, he already had this strength, but due to many factors such as business operation and personality, he has been successful for many years, and Li Chong has become a green leaf. Therefore, when Donnie Yen had the right to decide his own works for the first time, all he could do was to show his action characteristics incisively and vividly.

"The Fuse" is undoubtedly another wonderful action show of Donnie Yen, which is even better than the previous two works. In the film, Donnie Yen used many different kinds of action routines, such as the jumping action of western boxing (reminiscent of the battle between Jet Li and Sichuan and Vietnam in Huo Yuanjia's Tomb in Heroes of Jason Wu), the elbow of Muay Thai and some close-fitting free fights. The use of these movements continues Donnie Yen's consistent sense of speed and strength, and they are all used in actual combat. Especially the last battle with the opponent is expected to become a classic battle worshipped by kung fu fans in the future. First of all, the two sides launched a fierce gun battle in the Woods and grasslands of the country. The special geographical environment and wonderful photography created a pleasing gun battle. The scene of Donnie Yen's interception is exciting and pleasant. In the following close combat, Donnie Yen and Zou Zhaolong almost used their own skills for many years, such as side kick, roundhouse kick, volleying three feet, turning skills, joint skills ... Seeing the move, it was fatal, dazzling the audience. In addition, the performance of Xingyu in the film is also very wonderful, and the strength and technology are perfectly combined. I hope he can get more exhibition space through this work in the future.

If you have to find fault with the action of this movie, it may be a bit too cruel (assuming cruelty is also a shortcoming). Although there is no bloody scene on the camera, some paragraphs still make people feel a little uncomfortable. For example, in the part where Ma Jun killed Ah Fu, crazy Donnie Yen slammed his fist into the other person's face (reminiscent of Song Wu hitting the tiger) and gave them a counterattack, but the dull sound of his fist hitting the target was chilling. If this film is in America, I believe it will be restricted.

Kill the Wolf and Longhumen have made great breakthroughs in action design every time, even subversive breakthroughs, but they are always criticized in the plot. It can be seen that Donnie Yen and Ye Weixin really put a lot of effort into the plot of the fuse this time. The characters in the film are very reasonable, and the story connection is also very reasonable, especially the role of Fan Bingbing (listening to songs and blogs) and the role of three brothers and mothers.

However, it is a bit reluctant to say how wonderful this story is. A policeman with inner contradictions and a policeman who died young, an undercover who has been in the underworld for many years, a woman who loves him very much but doesn't know the truth, and a group of cruel but extremely filial gang bosses ... Most of the characters in the film can find similar shadows in traditional Hong Kong gangster films, so that you can almost foresee the fate of all the characters in the film. Besides, there are also some minor faults in some minor details, such as Fan Bingbing's role being hijacked, so many people in the hospital, and several policemen staring at the door. How can a living person be easily hijacked by bad people? The film has no explanation. One shot found that people were gone, and the next shot made people cry in a small hut in the country, which made people a little confused. Also, the protagonist in the film is a bit too forbidden. Donnie Yen and Zou Zhaolong finally fought a decisive battle. They hit the wall with their heads, knocked on the iron railings, then kicked the lower abdomen, hit the back of the head, and finally fell to a high place ... Because of their mother's appearance, they finally took a break, but just when the audience thought it was over, Zou Zhaolong waved, and they suddenly stood up, shook their hands and feet and took a deep breath, as if nothing had happened. ...

However, in my opinion, the above shortcomings are definitely not the factors that affect you to enter the cinema, because for a commercial action movie, it is enough to make the audience walk out of the cinema excitedly. By the way, this is my second time to see an action movie starring Donnie Yen in the cinema. The last time was Longhumen a year ago. From the mental state of the fans, we can see the difference between the two films-the huge contrast between the bad plot and the wonderful martial arts in Longhumen, which made the audience always in an awkward position of crying and laughing, so the atmosphere at that time was relatively "stable". This time, it is very different. In the small screening hall, the fans cheered and screamed constantly, and their mood was very high.

Undoubtedly, The Fuse is the best of the three works co-produced by Ye Weixin and Donnie Yen.
